LSAT Stress Management
There are 144 days left to my test, my score is not as high as I want it to be.
I have been studying, yet I don't see any improvement. I started to have endless sleepless night - LSAT and fear and worry dominates my head once it is on the pillow in the middle of the darkness.
How do you guys manage such stress? Any good suggestions want to share?
Thank you~

Re: LSAT Stress Management
Hah I remember that feeling. I used to have legit nightmares about the LSAT. I had a nightmare once that there were questions about physics and shit on there and they weren't even multiple choice.
The answer to stress is confidence, which also btw happens to help a lot with your timing/score. Realize that you have all the time in the world till the test. If you just started studying now, you'd still be in good shape. At the end of the day, for all its importance, it's still just a 100 question multiple choice test. Realize you're going to keep getting better, and all you have to do is knock off wrong answer choices and keep moving. It's really important (at least it was for me) not to psych yourself out too much. I was a retaker and the most important difference for me was looking at it like just another PT instead of going in so nervous I could barely write my name on the scantron.
Your not expected to score where you need to be 100+ days from the test, give yourself some credit, don't be too hard on yourself and view it as a challenge to keep improving. It's much easier to ask "Hmm what can I learn from this mistake" when you have that attitude and not one of: "WTF WHY DID I MESS THIS UP".
Good luck!

Re: LSAT Stress Management
144 days? Man you need at least 400...
In reality that is why to much time to keep in it. You are likely to burn yourself out. You should just spend like 60 days at it hardcore.
You do not want to peak months b/f the exam.

You need to sleep 7-9 hours continuously each day.

Re: LSAT Stress Management
Having nightmares and restless nights due to the LSAT happened to me, but only at the beginning. If you've only recently started prepping, then I would say it's totally normal and will pass. Remember, dreams are our body's way of dealing with and making sense of the stresses of the day.

I hate to say it - but if the fucking LSAT is stressing you out - you might want to consider a different path. Shit only gets worse from this point on...

While this may be the best option for many people, it's not necessarily a universal truth:eerie_erie wrote:You need to sleep 7-9 hours continuously each day.

Go for a nice peaceful walk (no ipod) once a day to clear your head. And as hard as it may be, try to get more sleep.

I would really like to know how many hours a day OP is studying. And how many days a week.

Re: LSAT Stress Management
Unfortunately 144 days is cutting it really short, I wouldn't recommend that. You need at least 3 years of 9-5 studying.Ask Me Not wrote:There are 144 days left to my test, my score is not as high as I want it to be.

I wish I could filter TLS threads by "containing images of Dr. Steve Brule" because those are the only ones I care to read at this point

LOL, love that show. Anything Tim and Eric touch is gold in my book.
As far as the test, maybe take break for week. You've got time. Also, it is very much a learnable test with nowhere near the intensity of the Bar, which is 3 days. One friend of mine only passed it on the third try. Another is hoping to avoid going for a third. It's all relative. Just work on understanding the concepts first. Then take PTs untimed at first and go back to doing that especially if you feel like you're tanking.
You'll be fine.
