168/3.3

Post by mazzini » Tue Feb 09, 2010 2:25 pm

3.3 at an unranked school with a 168 LSAT.
I applied to Mich,Boston College, Cornell, Vandy, UC Davis, Notre Dame, UIUC, Fordham, George Washington, and Colorado.
Do I have a shot at Mich, Cornell, Vandy?

do you have work experience and did you just apply? i think you have a shot at all three with cornell being your best bet. you are applying very late though so i wouldn't be surprised if you got dinged

Cornell's your best bet. Looks like under 50% chance at each though unless you are a URM

No legal work experience, extracurriculars with student govt. and other student organizations. Yes, I did apply only 2-3 weeks ago and am not a URM. All of my applications are already complete.

I have similar numbers (3.5, 168) decent-ish softs and applied to some of the same schools. My results have been:

Out at Mich,
Deferred EA to RD at Cornell
WL at Notre Dame
No word yet from Davis

I am in at BU, W&L, and WUSTL.

I think Cornell is incredibly tough this year because of the ap increase and Michigan just seems like too much of a readh (for both of us.) But I'd say you had a solid shot everywhere else on this list.

You probably have a shot at Cornell. 3.3 seems to be their cut off and you are above their median LSAT. Mich is probably close to auto-ding since you are below both medians. I'm just speculating about Vandy, but I think you need a higher LSAT there to overcome the GPA.

Your odds are poor for the T19. No at Vandy for sure this cycle. Possibly in a Cornell, but it might require a WL. Great odds for T20 on down though.

Have about the same #s (but lots of we) - so far deferred cornell ea to rd, wl vandy, applied late to mich and haven't heard but expect a ding. You will have a tough shot at bc also because of gpa. Outside of that your solid at the rest. Cornell normally might be ok but I think there's a ton of us exactly at that range, so only a couple will get the nod.

I think you should be able to get into 1 of your top 3. Probably not Mich.
