The law school has everything a student would need, including a self-contained book store, café featuring Starbucks, a large library, a locker room that provides each student with a locker and mailbox, as well as a lounge with a pool table and fooze-ball machine. Dean Pless and the admissions office are friendly and helpful, and the professors are out in the hallways greeting and speaking with students between classes.
The law school is located on the gorgeous University of Illinois main campus, which intertwines mature trees and beautiful brick buildings. There is a bar and Asian restaurant seemingly on every street corner (both of which I consider to be huge advantages!) and almost everything you could ask for is within walking distance.
Despite the consequences from venturing to Illinois at -6 degrees from sunny Florida, my experience was nothing short of wonderful and featured the kindness of Dean Pless and his admissions staff as well as 1L and 2L students. I ate at some unique restaurants and enjoyed a beer at some local bars, including Flat Top, Joe’s, The Blind Big, Oishi, and more.
I hope these photos help those considering the University of Illinois in making their decision!
Note: I tried to not get many people in these photos. If you or someone you know is in one and would like me to take it down, just send me a message!
