Congrats! If you check the "lawschooladmissions" subthread on Reddit , you'll find some students who recently got accepted into Columbia, ED.kokozhang wrote:Admitted ED, got result on 12.3. Looking for the community!

Has anyone else who applied RD received an interview request? What are we to make of it at this stage/this cycle?

Has anyone who applied ED not heard back yet about anything? Wasn’t offered an interview and haven’t heard back about a decision.kokozhang wrote:Admitted ED, got result on 12.3. Looking for the community!

Yes, just got the interview request last night. Oddly, Columbia was the last school I applied to, last to go complete, and first to have any movement.

On Dec 6, I got an interview invitation...my GPA and LSAT are well below Columbia's 25% markers but my softs are quite impressive and I'm URM.

So the interview went well. The only real question was "Why Columbia", other than that the entire interview consisted of the Admissions Counselor complimenting me on my softs and making conversation from there. Again, my numbers are way below their markers.prelawman wrote:On Dec 6, I got an interview invitation...my GPA and LSAT are well below Columbia's 25% markers but my softs are quite impressive and I'm URM.

Same here! Submitted 12/3, Complete 12/10, Interview request received 12/13! LSAT~75%, 25%<GPA<75%, "interesting softs" (according to my resume readers). Had to schedule it on the same day with my final exam so hope I survive! Sounds like it's pretty casual?

Should ED decisions be expected next week because the following weeks in December are typically a holiday for university staff? I applied ED and have not heard anything back yet - but I just came home from university which is my main address listed on LSAC. I'm wondering if Columbia sends emails as well as snail mail? Or for waitlisted applicants if we would just receive an email (at this point I think I'm going to be pushed into RD lol).

Checking in! Admitted via email today after applying mid December. Columbia has always been my number one school (barring a miraculous HLS acceptance) but I'm PI focused. Anyone else thinking of doing PI or government work? Also good luck to any of you still waiting!

Has the Columbia admissions staff been on a prolonged New Year's vacation? It seems to be very quiet on this thread. Maybe they are still waiting for applicants to come in to size up the entire pool

Re: Columbia c/o 2022 Applicants Thread (2018-2019)
Anyone else pushed from ED to RD get a message that they will be looked at in April? The exact line was "We shall be pleased to reconsider your candidacy for admission, without prejudice and with continuing recognition of your special interest in Columbia Law School, in April."
Not sure what to make of it - seems like it means I was pushed to consideration after the regular decision pool? Anyone know what it means?

If you don't mind me asking, what soft factors did they find impressive? I'm in the same boat as you... still waiting for a decision tho..prelawman wrote:So the interview went well.
