Wish they'd send me $ info so I can figure out whether I should bother with dealing with my awful regional airport to attend ASW.

Once you receive the status checker and it says "Received - your file is complete and ready for review" - does it change again once your application goes under review - or - do you simply receive/not receive an invitation for an interview?

Yeah it’s just gonna sit like that until a decision is made. UT Status checker looked pretty useless from the git-go, so I stopped looking at it early on, but I don’t even remember seeing anything when I had an interview request either.lollering_99 wrote:Once you receive the status checker and it says "Received - your file is complete and ready for review" - does it change again once your application goes under review - or - do you simply receive/not receive an invitation for an interview?

Thanks for the feedback, Gaspar. Hoping that having a GPA 75>, a few years of relevant work experience at large corporations, and solid undergraduate accolades might help in scoring an interview - despite a much less than <25 LSAT...keeping my fingers crossed.GasparLeGecko wrote:Yeah it’s just gonna sit like that until a decision is made. If I went complete on January 5 and haven't gotten an interview request yet, is that a bad sign?

I applied in early Oct. and didn't get an interview request until the end of December and I got in. They haven't had your app very long. Don't sweat it!of2273 wrote:If I went complete on January 5 and haven't gotten an interview request yet, is that a bad sign?

Bruh. I applied and went complete in mid-October and didn't get an interview request until mid-January. Got accepted 2 days after that. No worries.of2273 wrote:If I went complete on January 5 and haven't gotten an interview request yet, is that a bad sign?

For those who have interviewed but still pending, when did you interview?
I interviewed on January 21 and haven't heard back yet.

If I wanted to send in a Why Texas statement to add to my application - should I email the admissions address (admissions@law.utexas.edu) with the documents and my L#, etc?

Re: Texas Law Class of 2021 Applicants (2017-2018 cycle)
Just finished my interview! In case it's helpful for anyone, I got the same questions everyone else seemed to get: 1. Interests outside of law, 2. when did you decide you wanted to go to law school and what would you like to work in, 3. Favorite course in college.
I went complete on 1/19, sent a Why Texas on that same day and received an interview request on 1/27.
My stats are GPA non-reportable, LSAT 167.

Went complete first week in November and haven’t heard a thing since then. Status checker says application is complete, but at what point should I follow up with them on the status of it to check in?

Should I do a "Why Texas" addendum even though I'm in-state? I'm doing my interview today, and from what I can tell that's not really asked, but Texas is my top choice and I'm so passionate about going to this school that I want to convey that, but I'm not sure if it would be too much. I also went to a "Texas Law Day" event yesterday and also wanted to include a thank you of sorts for their hospitality, but am just not sure if it's worth it or if it'll help my app at all.

Has anyone ever heard of someone under both medians getting into UT? I'm a current first year grad student at UT right now and applied into the dual degree, URM, in-state, and strong PS, rec letters, softs, etc. Gonna retake the LSAT next Saturday to hopefully get around the median but just in case I don't, has that been the case, even if rare?

Happens at least some of the time for URMs--http://texas.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1718nyctexan wrote:Has anyone ever heard of someone under both medians getting into UT? Hadn't noticed they were so harsh on folks below both medians.
Bright side is that if you break 167 you're probably golden--good luck.
