Applied RD and went complete 10/17, but have seen no movement since... I'm guessing this is a bad sign?

I don't really understand why law schools open the application window so early and then hold their decisions until mid to late December. If its because there are not enough applications to compare, then they should condense the window. The admissions office *should* know before the cycle begins what their LSAT/GPA targets are going to be. I have yet to be convinced that any law school truly takes a "holistic" approach to admissions, so they should essentially plan on admitting those who are above the standards and rejecting those who are not. They also know their target class size. One would also think that the earlier they started getting decisions out, the more likely that students would be to go ahead and commit to attendance. Sure, everyone wouldn't, but a non-negligible percentage likely would.ejshah02 wrote:Applied RD and went complete 10/17, but have seen no movement since... I'm guessing this is a bad sign?

+1. I could not agree with you more. I applied in the beginning of October, and some schools accepted people who applied in the middle of November the same day as me. Also with the same outcome and scholarship offer. Sometimes I think you have to ED to get any benefits from applying early. Other than that, I'm pretty skeptical.OldCollegeTry wrote:I don't really understand why law schools open the application window so early and then hold their decisions until mid to late December. How many people usually apply ED? And out of that number, how many get accepted?

How long does it usually take for ND to send the confirmation/status checker e-mail?

Decision made! First seat deposit also listed in the fees section. Is that a reliable indicator that I got the nod?

Thanks. I was 10/26 so hopefully they are just going in order. Did your status checker tell you anything or was it just an email?

I haven’t received any emails. The status checker states that they do not give decisions via phone or email and to expect it in the mail within 2 weeks.lawdaddy1 wrote:Thanks. I was 10/26 so hopefully they are just going in order. Did your status checker tell you anything or was it just an email?

If the seat deposits are listed, does that mean good news is on it's way?!

Decision made w/seat deposit listed. RD went complete on 9/5 with one change (10/17). I'm assuming seat deposit being listed is a good sign??

Are these rolling out today or were they all released at the same time? Has anyone checked and not seen an update this morning and then checked again and had decision made/fees pop up? (jw so I know how actively to check haha)

Does ND's status checker say "Under Review" at any point or is it just "Complete" until a decision is made?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
