One of my friends last year did 3 days of class at Columbia and then got off the HLS waitlist.TheKingLives wrote:"We do not know whether, when, or how many spaces will become available. Whether spaces become available depends on the number of admitted applicants who ultimately do not enroll at Harvard this year. If at any time between now and registration in early September, the information we have concerning admitted applicants’ enrollment plans suggests that the class will be under enrolled, we will make offers of admission to an appropriate number of waitlist candidates. Any such offers will be made as soon as possible."HaveMercy wrote:When do decisions have to be made by

It looks like offers could possibly go out as late as the first day of class?

Did your friend end up going to HLS? What was that move like? At least NYC and Boston aren't too far...KateMcKitten wrote:One of my friends last year did 3 days of class at Columbia and then got off the HLS waitlist.TheKingLives wrote:"We do not know whether, when, or how many spaces will become available. Yes she did, and she's doing really well! I think it was a very crazy week. I have no idea about details, but she did have to get out of that NYC lease. Thankfully her family was able to pitch in and help.calpolisci2016 wrote:Did your friend end up going to HLS? What was that move like? Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Waitlist
Infrequent lurker and sporadic poster here (I can't seem to retrieve my old account; hence, this new registration).
Quick questions, re: this so called elusive "waitlist" @ HLS.
1) For people who are still on the waitlist, does HLS actually notify these individuals that they are on the waitlist (eg. via e-mail) or is it a default expectation if one hasn't heard back as of yet?
2) My application went completed at the beginning of the year and I had my "JS1" around mid-April but the 15 minute chat session wasn't actually with JS herself (it was a spirited conversation with someone else from the Admissions Office). I have not been notified of any waitlist. Should I be concerned?
3) Also, my interview was not conducted over Skype video; it was done over the telephone because I was unable to activate my Skype (at my end) right before the scheduled call. Would this impact me adversely in any way?
4) I keep checking the online status checker.... but it isn't particularly helpful. Has anyone had success getting any status updates from the HLS online status checker?
FWIW, I am an international applicant and I am also older than the traditional applicant (ie. I have years of post-undergraduate experience in a professional occupation).
I would appreciate some insights / thoughts.
Thanks!

Do we have any idea how many people are still on the list at this point?

Can everyone who is still on check in with their JS status? Trying to get a sense of who else is out there.
I'm here, pre waitlist JS1.
