Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
they had like 6800 applications last year. I don't think their application number is unexpected this year unless that number somehow magically doubledpatttt wrote:haley12 wrote:I see the best in people to a fault, but I'm thinking maybe they are understaffed/had an unexpected number of apps and are just overloaded. Being understaffed/overloaded could only explain why those who applied later haven't heard anything, not why those of us who applied before the holidays have been ghosted. It really is pathetic on NYU's part to have left people hanging since October and November - I've seen more productivity at even the most poorly managed DMVs.

Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So, this is my first post, but I've been following this thread since my SO is an applicant this cycle. I was just wondering why are people so mad about the long notification process? It seems that NYU has been transparent about how long it takes them to go through applications.
Also, for people who applied in Oct/Nov and haven't heard anything while people who applied later in the cycle have...
It's still late April.Candidates who apply by our regular February 15 deadline (must have taken the LSAT by the previous December to qualify) will be notified by late April. Candidates may hear sooner than late April, but we cannot make such a guarantee.

Am I missing something? I think I'm stressing my SO out because he hasn't heard yet but there doesn't seem to be cause for alarm.Applications are sent to the Committee on Admissions in the order in which they are completed, but decisions are not necessarily made in the order in which applications are first reviewed.
