Checking in! Here's to hoping that my October LSAT makes this dream attainable!

Also, to echo what has been said above I can't believe that the time for applications is almost upon us.

My problem exactly.
Hi,

I was accepted at SLS in a past cycle. I wrote a DS even though my PS dealt with same material. Prefer not to discuss content beyond saying that I'm not a URM, but here's my advice:

At first, I had the same questions you did, and it seemed redundant to write a DS. However in the end my DS focused explicitly on how my experiences give me perspective that would inform my studies, my interactions with classmates and faculty, and my career.

To put it another way, my PS answered the question, "Why do you want to go to law school?" My DS answered the question, "What would your background and experience bring to the class?" In hindsight I think this was the correct way to approach it.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Given my numbers, applying to Stanford in a lot of ways feels like watching a player on your favorite basketball team throw up a half court shot as time expires in a tie game... you're pretty sure it's not going to go in, but you still watch pretty intently because, hey, it's your favorite team. Similarly, if I do get in, I will definitely run around the house yelling my head off and doing Tiger Woods post-putt fist pumps.

It used to be impressive if you could find SLS on the front page and a notable event if it somehow showed up twice, but three in a row at the top... DAMN, watch out YLS.

Furthermore, it's 3 different people posting - not just 1 guy spamming all 3 threads too.

What if you (when applications come out), you listed on the front post:

Checked-in/Applying:
- A
- B
- C

Accepted:
- D

Waitlisted:
- E
- F

etc.

Allowing people to direct questions and thoughts to people?

Google doc would be good for that.

IIRC this is going to be a long ride. Can anyone confirm that Stanford tends to lag on its application decisions?

<- currently on the WL for stanford C/O 2016. Applied around nov 1, heard back april 19. So yes they do late decisions, and its totally at random.

lol damn, sorry brother. I noticed the phenomenon on LSN when I saw that so many people were in at H late in the game, but had not even heard from Stanford at all.

Thanks, dude. But we all know that SLS isn't quite a numbers game alone and I don't have particularly good softs. And yes, I'll keep going with this thread.

Pretty sure those numbers are good enough to overcome average softs :D

Wish I had an LSAT score to be able to post in the Google Docs. This is getting exciting!

Would it be any different than just posting them in a thread? I guess convenience could be a double-edged sword. Serious question though, is this a problem? Would it hurt an application if someone was outed, or is this only something to be worried about if someone had said something incriminating in another post?

It wouldn't be much different than posting in a thread, besides the point that it's in the Stanford C/O thread and it would therefore be more likely that adcomms might actually find it. I think it shouldn't be a huge deal, though I've done my fair share of trolling on TLS lol.

Well I guess if anyone doesn't want to be specific they can do like 3.6x 17x or something.
