Does DePaul negotiate schollys/stips? I was accepted last year with some $$ but won't be reapplying unless I can get rid of that awful top third stipulation.

They negotiate with money but not so much with stips. DePaul banks on giving out a ton of money and keeping their ridiculous stips so that 2/3 of students with mone will lose it. Their facilities suck, they're known for section stacking....not worth going, even with a huge scholly.

Dont be an ass. This section of the forum is not for debating the merit of a school. Its about applicants discussing their application process.

I like DePaul a lot. I was just wondering if I could get the *inconvenient stip removed

I know a couple students and alum. I haven't heard of much in the way of negotiation on the stipulations, and can vouch for the rumors of section stacking.

Wasn't trying to be an ass. I was answering the scholly stip question honestly. Perhaps my remarks about the facilities were unwarranted....though the section stacking and 2/3 of people losing schollys is true.

LOL. Spoken like a true shill. The people applying to Depaul should be well aware of scholarship stipulations as they will likely not be able to pay down six figure debt with these employment prospects (or lack there of):
--LinkRemoved--
Looks like 40% landed long term positions that actually require a law degree from Depaul. So maybe you ought to excuse the person who is concerned about losing their scholarship because that person knows the job outcomes at Depaul aren't worth sticker.

SHILL?? LOL. "Their facilities suck" was the comment I was referring to, which TS acknowledged. Obviously its importaint to recognize that Depaul has some of the most strict scholarship stipulations in the second tier. With the help of many others, I compiled a chart about it here,

Has anyone heard anything yet? My application went complete yesterday and the status checker says a decision will be made in 2-3 weeks.

Nope. I haven't heard anything yet. I've been active since Oct. 8th, and I got the same message about the 2-3 week decision as everyone else. Umm...now, maybe my math is off, but I think it's been 3 weeks...

They didn't start reviewing until the 15th of October, so I think mid-November is probably the earliest to expect.

My status checker just went from telling me a status of 2-3 weeks for a decision to Application in Review. I went complete on October 29 and was told 3-4 weeks from October 15 and 2-3 weeks for when the app when complete on 10/29. Its between 3-4 weeks from 10/15 and its almost been 2 weeks from 10/29. Anyone else have this status change? I am wondering if it is a sign that a decision is coming soon.

Mine now says, "In Review." It's been that way since 11/7. I wonder how many applications they decide to read before making their first decisions. I know it's still a bit early in the cycle.

Just got admitted via status checker! I was trolling through status checkers and saw it, but haven't received any email yet.
162/3.9 for numbers. Pretty excited!

I got in! Just got an email. I can't pay sticker price for this school, but if they give me a scholarship, I'll go!

When did you guys apply? Mine's said "decision in 2-3 weeks" for over a week, now.

Accepted via status checker and an email on 11/21. Went a little longer than the 2-3 weeks from when I went complete.
