Re: 2013-2014 Admissions Results: Spreadsheet Compendium
In no way do I condone people messing with the spreadsheets - if they really want to play around with the numbers, they should copy everything into a new spreadsheet where they can do whatever they want. On the other hand, if people are consistently being obnoxious about this, why don't you lock the filled pages, add new input pages and periodically transfer the data from the new input pages into the locked filled page. I'm sure there are a few people that you could give access to who would help you out in the transferring.

The problem with that is when people need to add updates (interview date, acceptances, etc.) they wouldn't have access to the main data tab, so you would also have to monitor their updates and update the main data tab accordingly. I don't think it's feasible unfortunately.NYC-WVU wrote:In no way do I condone people messing with the spreadsheets - if they really want to play around with the numbers, they should copy everything into a new spreadsheet where they can do whatever they want. Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I'm confused -- why would people be offended by sorting for LSATs, acceptances, and complete dates? It actually makes the data useful...

Some people do not know how to properly sort or filter the data. For example they only sort one column which then mis-aligns the data and makes it useless.Will_McAvoy wrote:I'm confused -- why would people be offended by sorting for LSATs, acceptances, and complete dates? The data is primarily useful because of the first tab I created. As I mentioned in my initial post, if there is something people want to see or learn from the data that they can't already do from the analytics tab, I would be happy to write a new formula that displays the data in whatever format is needed

LS22: It looks like there might be a problem with the coloring of the LSATs in the Duke spreadsheet? gfm, for instance, has a 167 LSAT which is being coded as >75th, even though it's below median. I'm not sure if there are more examples of the problem other than that one, but I'm leery of messing it up so I just wanted to let you know rather than investigating further on my own.

I think I may have just been flipping the LSAT and GPA percentile cells in my head....lawschool22 wrote:I didn't see that example...from what I can tell everything looks okay. Does anyone know where we can find last year's data on how many offers schools made v. actual enrollment? I think I saw a link somewhere on this forum but I can't find it.

Here are some very general statistics on how many people got into schools versus how many people enrolled: http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/data/ ... me-summaryscoobysnax wrote:Does anyone know where we can find last year's data on how many offers schools made v. actual enrollment? What about adding a small display stating how many of those accepted were ED and how many weren't?
Just as a suggestion to making these great tools handier.

Also on another board this was extremely helpful, just google x school and standard 509 report and it tells you everything

LS22,
Thanks so much for all the spreadsheets. On the Harvard spreadsheet can you include the % of applicants with a JS1 who have been accepted so far?
Thanks!
