Waiting to hear back is the hardest part...are interviews going on this week too, or was it only last week?

Right, but under the weekly timeline they provided, the last week of interviews should have been either last week or this week. Based on that, we're either in Week 16 or 17 of 18.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 10:34 amThey conduct interviews for four weeks.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 5:39 pmWaiting to hear back is the hardest part...are interviews going on this week too, or was it only last week?

I interviewed on October 31. They said that was their first day of interviews. They also said they would notify chosen candidates mid-December.drs109 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 2:15 pmRight, but under the weekly timeline they provided, the last week of interviews should have been either last week or this week. Thank you for this. I interviewed that week and stupidly didn't ask about timeline. I will stop refreshing my email for the next month.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 6:39 pmI interviewed on October 31. They said that was their first day of interviews. Interviewed today. The current plan is for training to remain 100% virtual, but they are contemplating bringing the new group in for 1 week. They would cover travel expenses for that week.

Does anyone remember the details of the training schedule? Was it six weeks you must be available 8:30-5 starting January 16 or was it a different time frame?

They schedule a 45 minute time slot. My interview lasted around 45 minutes. I used the full amount of time alloted to ask questions.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:48 amFor those who interviewed, how long did your interview last?

Mine took 30 minutes, but I didn't use the remaining 15 to ask questions. Most of my questions were answered through each person's comments/follow ups on what I was saying as I interviewed.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 1:28 pmThey schedule a 45 minute time slot. Current examiner. Just wanted to share the ti love my uspto job. The work is mostly enjoyable but the benefits vs a firm job are really what I love. The position is so flexible, wfh is nice and the health benefits are great. My partner makes much more than me and is much busier so it’s great that I can put in my 8 hours a day, log off and never have to worry about work. It’s a great job for having a family and the gs14 pay after 3 years is really nice too.

Thanks for this, but most of us here are aware of the benefits/advantages of this job. What would be infinitely more useful is any insight you could provide on what the managers are looking for in an interview/how they make decisions to choose a random 50 out of 600+ (over)qualified attorneys each cycle. Everyone here meets the minimum qualifications, most have been selected by the selecting official and have had a writing sample good enough to obtain an interview at least once. Many walk away from the interview feeling like they nailed it but don't get the job, and vice versa. If you or any other lucky few chosen ones lurking here (likely knowing about this board because you checked in here when you were applying) could please enlighten the group, I think most of us would really appreciate it. Thanks again.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:12 pmCurrent examiner. Just wanted to share the ti love my uspto job. Are interviews still going on? If I have not heard a yet does that mean I’m out for this round?

I'm just curious, how many of you that got selected for an interview have been practicing for more than 2 years or so? I heard that your chances of being selected for an interview diminish the more experience you get and I'm wondering if I should even bother applying next cycle as I'm going on my 4th year of practice. Thanks!
