Happy New Year, everyone. Let’s make 2018 the last year that we have to think about this stupid test.

Do you guys read the question first or the passage first in LR?
I know Blueprint and Kaplan advise to read the questions first, but what about Manhattan Prep, 7Sage and the LSAT Trainer?
I'm still trying to figure out what is the best strategy

try both. I do question stem first so I know exactly what kind of analysis I need to do before reading the stimulus. idk, that's just me thoThaBlackLord wrote:Do you guys read the question first or the passage first in LR?

Re: The Official June 2018 Study Thread
I think it depends on the person. Previously, I would read the question stem first then the passage. However, I realized that the question stem makes me tunneled visioned. For instance, I'd read the question stem, then frantically try to predict the answers while reading the passage. This approach hurt my accuracy a bit, so I had to do away with it.ThaBlackLord wrote:Do you guys read the question first or the passage first in LR?

Look at it this way, reading the question stem first is like listening to respond instead of listening to understand.

Re: The Official June 2018 Study Thread
I'm pretty sure 7Sage goes right to the question stem. I prefer going to the question as the question type dictates how I am going to read the passage and what I have to focus on. It saves time. For instance, if I know it is an argument part question I am going to read the passage with a specific goal in mind. If the question is a main point question, I care less about weaknesses I see in the logic and more about argument structure. Just my two cents though, if you like reading the passage first, you do you!ThaBlackLord wrote:Do you guys read the question first or the passage first in LR?

^ Yes!
I had a migraine all day, so I couldn’t study at all. Having chronic migraines is horrible when you need to study.
P.S. I’ve been using this thread as a personal diary. Oops, but it helps me stay motivated.

Do you guys study one section for a week straight to get really good at it or do you switch it up a little bit?

Checking in for the June 2018 test! And looking for a study partner if anyone lives in the Dayton/Cincinnati, Ohio area. I took my first PT today as a cold diagnostic and scored a 160. I am aiming for a 175-180. Good luck everyone! We can do this

Without too much detail I'm from the central part lol. I went to Dayton every summer though! I no longer live there but I think it's freezing everywhere right now.Alyssa92 wrote:Really?! I woke up with another migraine, so all my study plans went out the window again . I finally get some time off of work, giving me time to study, and... nope.

You should just try to study 1 hour every single day if you can.olympia wrote:I woke up with another migraine, so all my study plans went out the window again . I finally get some time off of work, giving me time to study, and... nope.
On another note, I can't believe I wasted my money on a Blueprint course. Folks Blueprint ain't the way to go, trust me!
