Has anyone sent the scholarship negotiation form more than once? As in, filled it out, got a bump, then filled it out again with different offers to try to get another bump.

Re: UChicago c/o 2019
I looked at the form and it shows a required submission date of April 20th. I emailed Kevin Petty and the office of financial aid to try to figure out how to get them to look at my financial aid package again but they haven't gotten back to me yet.theconsigliere wrote:Has anyone sent the scholarship negotiation form more than once? Heard back today about my scholarship request with a 15k bump. Originally submitted late March, updated last week.

Received a considerable scholarship increase after sending in my appeal awhile back. Not enough to sway me towards them so I'll be withdrawing but feel free to PM for details.

Anyone else have their appeal denied, or am I the only one? :/

Mine was denied too - I thought I was the only one! But Chicago really was more than generous with their initial offer, so I guess I can't complainjustakicker wrote:Anyone else have their appeal denied, or am I the only one? :/

Let's liven it up in here! When are people moving? What are people's interests (in the field and otherwise)? I was told by an NU 1L that U Chicago students are known for being antisocial shut-ins and I am choosing not to believe her!! Also cute pet photos are encouraged.

Thanks! I missed ASW for work and this thread is pretty quiet so I was missing the U Chicago excitement in my life!boomlawyered wrote:1) Great attitude, absolutely not true (and I hope we showed most of you that at ASW!)archipm wrote:I was told by an NU 1L that U Chicago students are known for being antisocial shut-ins and I am choosing not to believe her!!

Lol NU 1L sounds bitter - I haven't noticed that at all. You'll be happy here!archipm wrote:I was told by an NU 1L that U Chicago students are known for being antisocial shut-ins and I am choosing not to believe her!!

Committed on Friday! Cannot wait! Any recommendations for obtaining furniture? Is there some kind of used furniture sale page for Hyde Park that I can join on Facebook??

^This is the kind of attitude that has me excited for UChicago. My roommate and I are shooting for around September 1st. As for interests, what little free time I have will be spent in the gym and sitting on the shore of Lake Michigan, hopefully with a fishing rod in hand. What kinds of things are fun to do around Chicago other than the museums?? I'm sincerely hoping that other 1L's are down to clown and get into some interesting thingsarchipm wrote:Let's liven it up in here! When are people moving? Any current or prospective students know anything about Vue53 (new apartment building)?

Hey! I have a question for you/any other current students who see this about orientation. I just noticed that there's like an overnight retreat portion and I'm concerned bc I have a dog that I obvs can't leave alone and I don't know anyone in Chicago to watch him. Do you know if we have to stay overnight?
Also, do you know generally what time each day orientation goes until? I found some schedules from previous years that seemed like they ended around 4:30/5ish but it seems like last year's might've been different and I can't find any schedule for that.

Did they email something out about orientation already?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
