Come on, guys. This thread is way too dead considering that Summers start in like two weeks! We can do better.

I'm still waiting for mine from the LC (supposedly they're going to send another batch next week... or at least that's what they told me on the phone yesterday!)basedvulpes wrote:Signed my lease!GFox345 wrote:Come on, guys. I honestly don't care how they do, which is a waste because they are amazing. I just know that I will sneak a flask in regardless.gsy987 wrote:I'm still waiting for mine from the LC (supposedly they're going to send another batch next week... or at least that's what they told me on the phone yesterday!)basedvulpes wrote:Signed my lease!GFox345 wrote:Come on, guys. Is now a good time to start looking for apartments or should I wait until July-ish?

I would start looking now. A lot of places will likely be picked over by mid-July.matterhorn wrote:Is now a good time to start looking for apartments or should I wait until July-ish?

I'm a fall starter, so I'm going to use this summer to get in really good shape before law school.GFox345 wrote:Also, what are you mother fuckers going during the summer semester?

There will be at least one spot in the LC opening up because I'm taking a spot at Phid.

Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019
Hey is anyone else living in the LC and bringing a car? Just wondering what people have heard about parking as a 1L. Should I be looking on Craigslist now to see if I can pay someone for a spot, wait to start looking, go through the school, etc...? Any advice would be appreciated.

Going to be living in the LC as well and was wondering the same thing. Don't really need my car and 1L etc, but I figure it'd be convient to have. I've heard of passes that allow you to park overnight and people renting out spaces but haven't gone farther then that.blind squirrel wrote:Hey is anyone else living in the LC and bringing a car? This is my situation too... and from what I've heard, there are 3 options here:Tiddlywinks wrote:Going to be living in the LC as well and was wondering the same thing. 1. Rent a space from a private individual. (these typically go for around $50ish a month and can be found on craigslist.)
2. Snag a permanent spot (when I called the parking offices at Michigan, they said that these will open up sometime in June, but they're very limited)
3. Get a yellow/orange spot, and pay an extra fee for overnight hours (I've heard that this is an option, though I haven't explored it much yet.)
I'm going to try option number 1 personally (I think it'll end up being easier.)

I just reviewed my LC lease. Are we able to withdraw by July 31 without any penalty?

Yes and no, from my understanding. Yes, if you are withdrawing from Michigan. No, if you are attending and decide to live elsewhere. I imagine really special circumstances may make the "no" flexible, though.gopurp333 wrote:I just reviewed my LC lease. Are we able to withdraw by July 31 without any penalty?

Have a lot of people still not heard back regarding their Lawyer's Club app, or is it just me?

I think they get back to you in the order that you applied. There was a deadline for the lease contract recently, so they'll be sending out more in the next couple weeks based on number of spaces available, from my understanding. I think I submitted mine in late January-ish and was in the round of leases due this week, if that helps your estimates for when you'll get yours.gazorpazorp wrote:Have a lot of people still not heard back regarding their Lawyer's Club app, or is it just me?

Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019
I spoke to someone in the LC department (I guess you could call it a department) and they said that the batch they sent out last week was for people who turned in their applications through April 10th. They said they hope to send out another batch either today or tomorrow that will include dates beyond that. So if you applied in mid to late April you may be in this next batch. Like the above poster says, it just goes by date.ChervonaKatya wrote:I think they get back to you in the order that you applied.
