I am not waiting on NY for results but a few friends took July 18. The home page (https://www.nybarexam.org/) info has changed:

It used to say

"(2) JULY 2018 BAR EXAMINATION

The New York Bar Examination was administered ….. Results are expected to be released in late October or early November."

Now it says "Results are expected to be released in late October."

That change happened today so nearly there....

Hey, appreciate the solidarity but unfortunately it actually changed to that a few weeks ago. Just commenting so no one else gets freaked out lol

It has said “end of October” since I was checking months ago. I never remember it saying November and it deft didn’t change today.

The representative answers on the BOLE site, did those essays receive close to perfect (ie 75-80/80) scores? Or are they average answers (50-55/80)?

It did indeed say "or early November" at one point, but this certainly isn't a new change.

The July 2017 answers say this "The following are sample candidate answers that received scores superior to the average
scale score awarded for the relevant essay." Not sure what "superior to the average scale score" translates to numerically.

Anyone else having trouble with BOLE? Neurotically checking BOLE for shits and giggles. When I just went to check, I kept getting a script error, then redirected to a .gov site. Finally it logged in correctly but I couldn't help but wonder if they're working on the site????

I then asked if they’ll be released tomorrow and she said “I don’t know, they should be released soon, we will update the website if there are any changes to the schedule”. Doesn’t help much except for the fact that we now know for sure it won’t be today. Might not even be tomorrow. To be safe, I am predicting Wednesday for the release.

Don't even bother checking the website or calling. There are no announcements, you'll just know via email.

I couldn’t resist and called BOLE and asked if the results will be released today and the woman said “not today”. I then asked if they’ll be released tomorrow and she said “I don’t know, they should be released soon, we will update the website if there are any changes to the schedule”. Doesn’t help much except for the fact that we now know for sure it won’t be today. Might not even be tomorrow. To be safe, I am predicting Wednesday for the release.

Well that is just unhelpful of them. There is no "schedule" to update. Unless, of course, "late October" changes to "early November" or "sometime in the foreseeable future".

It just has to do with Character and Fitness. You can "pass" that and not the bar - provided you did it well before now.

In the first department at least, you are not eligible for C&F review unless you pass so all those people passed. The question is when (i.e. how long did it take for them to get called for C&F after passing and is there any way some of those people took it J18 and already got an email)?

But how do we know what she meant by "release"? Did you specifically ask about emails? Otherwise, she could have been speaking about the official press release.
