Anyone still waiting for D.C. Certification Notice?
Still don't have mine. Called and they said doesn't mean anything. Just be patient. They're doing it on a rolling basis.
Anyone still waiting?

still waiting.
During the federal government shutdown the Committee on Admissions is closed.
Any one else worried we wont swear in by the end of Jan?

end of Jan seems optimistic if they haven’t even started reviewing your C&F yetnagy1 wrote:still waiting.

(But what do I know. I’ve just been waiting almost 11 months for them to process my waiver app)

In the same camp, I applied to waive back in January 2018.wwwcol wrote:end of Jan seems optimistic if they haven’t even started reviewing your C&F yetnagy1 wrote:still waiting.

Well 5pm on January 4, 2019 came and went, and I did not receive a certification. Given the Committee is closed during the shutdown, I don't expect to receive one soon.

Still haven't received a letter of certification. I assume they aren't being sent during the shutdown?

Re: 2018 July DC Bar
Just spoke with director of admissions. She said they're having a "digital problem" with certifications and are working on it. They have a staff of five. Feb Bar coming up too.
She had a sense of humor.
It's still difficult to ascertain the process. It seems to change every administration of the exam and this year is complicated by the scale of numbers.

Any certifications come out since the shutdown ended? They should have started on January 28.

This is ridiculous, right? Anyone else’s compensation/employment tied to actually being a member of the bar? The government shutdown seems like an excuse for a process already delayed beyond any previous year. Anyone attempted transferring scores to other jurisdictions?

Re: 2018 July DC Bar
You're right. The July 2017 bar had similar numbers. Over 1K people sat for the exam and there were approximately 800 certifications. All certifications were done within 5 weeks of the score release date. Even with the shutdown, the bar had more than 6 weeks after score release to notify of certifications.Rufussteck wrote:This is ridiculous, right? May be typical. 12 people were told they passed when they didn't and 12 (or 13) were told they didn't pass when they did. Happened in Nebraska too. 2 people who were told they passed went to Lincoln for swearing in. The night before the ceremony, they were told they DIDN'T pass.
Some problems in that office.

For those who have received your certification - the in absentia swearing in process is super fast and easy. I received the confirmation about 15 minutes after emailing in my forms.

Re: 2018 July DC Bar
I give up. I’m taking out a loan to apply to another jurisdiction. UBE score should be transferable. Can’t wait any longer for DC to do a simple task. Anyone feel like suing the bar for admission and/or lost wages?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
