I am selling all of the E&E's for the doctrinal classes. I also have the BLL Crim outline or whatever. I also have Understanding Crim, the really good Civ Pro hornbook that I would heavily recommend (it is better to read than the class reading). Lastly, I have the LRW books, and they have never been read.

Everything is $10, 3 for $25.

Someone told me that sending your clothes in each week to be dry cleaned is cheaper than using a laundry machine. They said this certain place (I dont remember the name) delivers and gives a good price for uva students? I'm finding all of this hard to believe.

Any truth here?

They may be referring to this:

http://naturalearthlaundry.com/residential/pricing/

I cannot imagine it would be cheaper than doing laundry yourself unless your apartment complex is seriously overcharging.

There are a couple of places that offer wash and fold service, but none of them are going to be cheaper than coin-op. The natural earth place linked above ups the ante by offering pick up and drop off. However, I'd recommend anyone considering them check their yelp reviews (including the many filtered reviews) and their entry on the better business bureau website. Sunshine laundry offers great service for $.90 cents a pound, but the location is pretty crappy if you live near grounds.

I did not take Virginia. But you can check with Barbri (and probably any prep company) for a list of the tested subjects and how often they are tested. My hunch is that Virginia practice will always be tested in Virginia, just by nature of asking questions about Virginia law. And even if it's not, if you are going to practice in Virginia, you might as well take the class since you will be sure to use it in your working life.

Which reminds me that the one other class I would absolutely say every law student should take is Advanced Legal Research. But don't take it in fall of 2L—it has too front-loaded a workload.

Here's the frequency chart for VA: --LinkRemoved--

I did not take VA, but the frequency looks relatively similar to NY. I would strongly recommend both VA Practice and Trusts & Estates (our version of Wills). I took NY, which similarly always tests NY Practice, and I would have LOVED to have taken a course on NY Practice, if UVA offered one.

I would also highly recommend Criminal Procedure (half of the crim questions on the MBE and frequently tested on essays in most states) and Evidence (a full subject on the MBE, though less frequently tested in essays)

On average, how much do utilities (including internet) cost for in a 2bd Ivy apartment? More than a $100? Substantially less? Thanks!

There are booksale hours on Tuesday, August 20th from 5-8pm. Then each day opening at 8am.

The people staffing the sale will all be 2/3L students so can usually give some decent guidance as to what you need by way of supplements.

Can you pay with a credit card at the PILA booksale or is it just cash?

Does anyone know of any good running trails around the school? Or can point me to a map or guide of the surrounding area? Thanks!

Rivanna Trail. Also main grounds is great to run-- I regularly run from Ivy Gardens (down Main St. I guess) to main grounds, the lawn, etc. - it's not too far. Also you can run around the baseball fields down at the Park. Running outdoors anywhere in CVille is pretty fabulous.

Parts of the Rivanna trail are great, parts are crap. There's a section right behind the law school that's pretty nice for walking, but a bit too uneven and rocky to run on in my opinion.

Check google maps near the intersection of Ivy Rd and 29. Running south from there is a section of the Rivanna trail that's really great for running or light hiking. There are a bunch of paths out there that connect to Rivanna back there too, check out Lewis Mountain Pkwy, which leads up to Observatory Hill, which is a great.

Also a great place for a short but very pretty run/walk is the Saunders-Monticello trail, which is about 2 miles long, with great views. It's a really easy walk, but would be a challenging run (for me at least).

$70-$90 maybe. You'll be able to keep your air/heat off for a big chunk of the year (usually not September/October though) which is nice.

This will out me more than I've been outed but I am too angry to care.

If you are a UVa law student and Access Media 3 is ruining your life, please report all future outages to COO George Spengler at (360) 560-3120.

Mr. Spengler said that outages are few and far between, the main problem is many apartments share internet with other apartments and are actually stealing from AM3 Inc.

He feels their service is top rate and flatly rejects my demand of still paying AM3 but additionally being allowed to pay another internet company.

Please report all outages to him as he actually has the power to enable a long term solution.

Please PM if you will be willing to sign a petition to ask Ivy to let us change providers. All who sign will get a free Fuck AM3 Inc. t-shirt sponsored by me. Please get all those you know who have been affected to sign as well. If an organized and polite request is launched, we may have more success than scattered impolite temper tantrums.

The logic is that if every Ivy resident notifies Mr. Spengler RESPECTFULLY each time their internet goes out, he'll realize this we are balls (gender neutral balls), and are persistent. The hope is he'll decide to pull the exclusitivity contract. Additionally, with a petition the management may be more likely to change something as AM3 is not in our leases and not advertised by Ivy as they may have an obligation to tell new residents they'll need to use this god awful company.

TY and Paulina for the responses. So psyched to check these places out. I'd imagine they're beautiful once autumn hits.

I checked out the Pen Park trail. It's about a ten minute drive from the law school, but the trail itself was pretty nice.

I'm wondering if it's always going to be this fast or if it'll slow down once people start moving in though.

Valid point. I'm pretty sure it's going to slow down a good deal, especially since the speeds right now are even faster than advertised.
