Particularly interested if anyone has info regarding Judges Moore, Sutton, Stranch, or Daughtrey.
My contribution, unfortunately, is radio silence from the 6th.

Re: Let's talk 6th Circuit!
I know that Sutton has already hired at least one and have heard unconfirmed reports that he is done. I have heard that Judge Stranch prefers graduates but will make exceptions. I don't know anything about Judge Daughtrey's hiring practices except that she has taken senior status.
Does anyone know about Judge Boggs? I know his whole schtick with the ancient history and physical sciences quiz but don't know anything about his hiring practices or timing.

Sutton and Kethledge are done I think. Batchelder is hiring now. The circuit as a whole seems to be slower than some of the others.

Posted this in the general hiring thread--Cole is taking paper applications and it looks like he'll be interviewing soon, if not already.

Moore is actively hiring. She's hired one 2L from my school (HYS) and extended interview offers as recently as this week.Anonymous User wrote:Particularly interested if anyone has info regarding Judges Moore, Sutton, Stranch, or Daughtrey.

I believe Sutton is done.
(Edited to add Sutton info.)

Moore has hired at least one non-HYS person in the last week. Not 100% sure that it's for 2014-15, but I think it is.Moore is actively hiring. She's hired one 2L from my school (HYS) and extended interview offers as recently as this week.

Re: Let's talk 6th Circuit!
I believe that many judges will consider 2015 applicants at the same time that they interview for 2014. I would submit applications for both years at the same time.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone on the 6th accepting applications or interviewing for 2015?

Re: Let's talk 6th Circuit!
As a former clerk, I highly reccommend just calling chambers if you want to know the status of a particular judge. They will tell you if they are full and what years they are accepting applications for. They will not write down your name or note if you sounded nervous. Most likely you will speak to a law clerk and they will forget about the conversation two seconds after it happened.
In general, with respect to what years judges are accepting applications for, I think that's a tough question. I personally don't have a specific answer but judges can be very fickle. They may say they are not hiring for 2015---and that might be the answer you get if you call chambers---but if they receive an application that they like and they are in interviewing mode anyway (for 2014) they'll go ahead and hire. They also often make offers for a year out if they find too many candidates they like for the hiring current year (2014). If you only want a job for 2015 it can't hurt to send out applications and see if anyone bites.
