Rutgers-Camden Class of 2016

Post by 2LT_CPG » Thu Jan 31, 2013 6:03 pm

I was accepted last year but deferred to work a year at a nonprofit.

Where's everyone planning on living? Is our class going to be larger than last year's hiccup?

May want to change this to Rutgers School of Law Class of 2016 because they are being merged.

I'll be attending this year as well. I deferred last year also. I already signed up for a housing contract at 330 Cooper, but I didn't like that they don't give you any idea of room type/assignment until after the first fee tier. Otherwise, excited for Dean's Law Day next month.

Does anyone have pictures of the new 330 Cooper Grad Housing apartments?

There are no pictures on their site, only a 3D rendered virtual tour which is basically useless. I cant even find any pictures on google or TLS.

Very interested in the 1br 1ba and would like to see a few shots if possible.

I'm going to be taking the tour of the housing apt on Dean's Law Day because you're right, the 3d rendering is useless. Also, I already completed my contract for housing and when the site showed how many of each type of apt there are, there were only 4 1bd 1ba total. I don't know if that is for the whole building or just what was left. There were over 75 multi-bedroom apts though. I stated my preference for a single, and hopefully I'll be able to secure one, but with only 4 up for grabs, that may be impossible.

Pretty sure one has yet to be created, so I made it:

You should update the first post of this thread to include a picture, some info, and the facebook URL as I have linked back to TLS in our group.

I was there at ASD yesterday. I took the tour of housing too, it's really nice. I'm hoping I can get one of those 1bd 1ba. I enjoyed the presentations and yesterday definitely made me happy I chose Rutgers-Camden.

Hey all, I'm a current Rutgers-Camden student finishing the hell that is 1L year (so close!). Just posted in the applicant thread and wanted to repost here...

I currently live in The Victor and have friends that live in Cooper and various places in Collingswood and Philly. I know some of you might be starting the housing search soon, so if anyone needs details on anything please feel free to ask. Obviously I know the most about The Victor, which has been great so far and my boyfriend and I are probably going to renew our lease for next year too. Please PM me if you want more info re our rent, pros/cons about the building, anything else about 1L year. If you are interested in living at The Victor and you mention my name during your visit and/or lease signing I'll get a referral bonus, and in return I'll pass along outlines for any profs you have that I had and will buy you a few welcome to Camden beers! :D

Who do I talk to at Rutgers to get a straight answer on in-state tuition? I'm hearing too many different things all around. Admissions?

Try to get in touch with the dean personally. If she likes you she will push to ensure you get the instate tuition pricing. If your numbers are competitive, they will do what it takes to make sure you enroll.

Other than that, you can also try contacting Nancy Hubert - she is relatively quick in her responses and very helpful.

Just tell them that you are very close to finalizing a lease but want to make sure that you will be receiving an instate rate before you close the deal. Also add in some information about Rutgers being your first choice and how minimizing your debt is very important, blah blah blah.

Goodluck.

Hey guys.

I'm a graduating 3L at Rutgers and my landlord asked me if I could find someone to rent her bottom floor in a duplex in Collingswood NJ. Its a two bedroom apartment with basement storage, shared washer/dryer in the basement, hardwood floors and a recently redone kitchen. I think she is looking for $1150, but I'm not completely sure. It is available for the month of May, which I think would work for jumpstart people or if you want to move-in in advance.

Collingswood is a great place to live, especially with the PATCO to get to campus. Shoot me a private message if you're interested and I can put you in touch with her. Thanks.
