I got an email today saying that a textbook from an order I already picked up is ready for pick up. Don't know what's up with the bookstore.

That said, the lady at the coop is wonderful and bakes amazing cookies. Put me a bit at ease, even though I was spending hundreds of dollars

Section 2 was the gunners in my year. We had like triple the TLR % of other sections.romanticegotist wrote:Work Hargrave, Play Hargrave bruhStylinNProfilin wrote:I'm starting to think my section (2) is where all the gunners are. Noticeably absent from all meetups so far. And 3 is definitely the alcoholic section.
Also I do recall noting that unfortunate section distribution could result in weird curves and classes made up of gunners

Is it just wishful thinking to think we don't have reading due for the first day if a class doesn't have an assignment or syllabus on Blackboard and we haven't gotten an email from the professor?

Yeah silence from my Property/LRW classes. I'm really hoping I don't hear anything the next few days. Re: Texas Class of 2016
Last year we didn't hear anything from our Property prof and then it turned out she had accidentally omitted to add the assignment to Blackboard. So, to make up for it, we got double reading that night. We were behind the whole semester and frequently got unexpected double readings. (I really loved that class, but that part was kind of stress-inducing).StylinNProfilin wrote:Yeah silence from my Property/LRW classes. I'm really hoping I don't hear anything the next few days. By the way, I have some property flashcards y'all can have if you want them. I bought them too late in the semester. My study group mocked me and refused to use them with me, so they are pretty much brand new.

In our defense, we mocked you about everything, not just the study cards.sarahmargie wrote:Last year we didn't hear anything from our Property prof and then it turned out she had accidentally omitted to add the assignment to Blackboard. Oh it is on Monday? Thought it was Tuesday. Glad I asked. If you see a 2L drinking way too much at it, that's probably me.StylinNProfilin wrote:Tomorrow at 5. Gonna need those margaritas, have a feeling its gonna be a long day.

So, aside from me realizing who romanticegoist is in person, I mostly felt that orientation today just prepared me for who the gunners will be. Not saying that romanticegoist is a gunner btw.

[Just found out that I don't know who BigZuck is.]
The first day was super-gunnerish; people jumping over each other to answer questions in the mock classes....

For those individuals who weren't at orientation or who aren't at UT, the current official/unofficial size of the Class of 2016 appears to be 322 students.

Day one of classes was not nearly as panic-inducing as I was led to believe.

I think the all important question is if Big Zuck shaved his beard...

So... Has anybody received their scholarship money yet? This is kind of ridiculous.

Did you turn in your scholarship thank you letters? Did all of it go to tuition? I got mine released a while ago, but I'm also a 2L, so that may have changed things.BigZuck wrote:So... Has anybody received their scholarship money yet? This is kind of ridiculous.

Chaucer1343 wrote:Anyone else have a discrepancy of ($713) in the amount you actually borrowed?
For example, on UT CASH, my "award total" is $$$
However, my students loans (tuition + money released to me) are only $$
so the amount that's not accounted for is $ ($713)
I plan to ask financial aid on Monday (just wanted to see if anyone here knew the answer).
Loan origination fee.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
