Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
I don't think it's a typo, but I believe it only applies to 2Ls and 3Ls who are staying in NYU housing in the fall (such as myself). Our housing starts on August 24 unless we apply for early arrival or are staying through the summer to the fall.

Ah, okay nice. Think Kola mentioned that was probably it and nice to have confirmation.

I would call the Fin. Aid office and ask. From what I can tell, they've been pretty helpful when people ask questions like this. Let us know what they say!

Does anyone know if this is true that Mercer/D'ag are full?senorhosh wrote:Haven't heard back from housing yet but I hear they're full.
Anyone who has gotten off the Waitlist this summer, how long did it take to hear back about student housing?
I got in off the waitlist last week, and I'm trying to figure out if I should start looking for housing on my own.

It took a good three weeks or so to hear back, but I got this in my housing e-mail from NYU. So you can still apply and hope for something, but you should definitely start looking elsewhere. Please Note: Housing is filled for Fall 2013 and we are unable to honor any room change requests at this time.

Supposedly they are full. I was waitlisted for housing but ended up getting an assignment. It took about 2 weeks after my application.

I was also accepted last week. Spoke with someone in the housing office on Weds. and was told Mercer and D'ag are full at this time. Started looking elsewhere already because I still haven't even been able to fill out a housing app since I don't have a university ID yet...GoldHattedGatsby wrote:Does anyone know if this is true that Mercer/D'ag are full?senorhosh wrote:Haven't heard back from housing yet but I hear they're full.

Triple was the last of my preference. I asked for a single dag/mercer as my first/second choice, then a double.
I hear it's difficult to get a single, even for those who filled early housing applications so I wouldn't bank on it now unless someone miraculously withdraws from a single and you get lucky.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
Sorry to veer from the housing topic, but I'm filling out the required immunization forms and I'm not sure what to write for "University I.D. Number" (which apparently begins with "N-"). I assume this isn't my netID (my three-letter initials followed by three numerical digits), so what else could it be and where can I find this number?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you go to the admitted students website, then to the University IDs and Keeping Connected tab on the left, you can access both your Net ID and University ID. Hth.

For the student housing, what are the differences between living on a lower, middle, or upper floor? Just better views?eerie_erie wrote:Hellooo, 3L here. Please ask me question or send PMs.

True for Dag but Mercer is on a much quieter set of blocks. I'm on the 4th floor of Mercer and rarely hear cars.one_by_one wrote:0L but I'd say the other big difference would be noise (which is not an insignificant factor given how busy/loud the area can be)GoldHattedGatsby wrote:For the student housing, what are the differences between living on a lower, middle, or upper floor? But are you facing the noisy broadway side or the quiet sides?ssteiner wrote:True for Dag but Mercer is on a much quieter set of blocks. To be fair, the quiet side. But from what friends who live on the noisy side tell me, you still really only hear the occasional ambulance or truck.Big(Bird)Law wrote: But are you facing the noisy broadway side or the quiet sides?

Got assigned to a room in D'ag. Pretty relieved actually because my apt. hunt wasn't going all that well. Also, if anyone in NYC wants to meet up at some point in the next few weeks for drinks send me a PM.

Anybody know from previous years when we'll be getting our section assignments and class schedules?

Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
did you get any updates from housing before you were assigned? I applied for housing on the 16th and got a confirmation email about my application but nothing about a waitlist for housing or an assignment....woolfiot wrote:Got assigned to a room in D'ag. Re: NYU Law Class of 2016
No updates aside from the automatic confirmation that my application had been received. I just randomly got my assignment about a week after submitting the app via NYU email. Not sure if this applies to you but someone in the fb group said that there aren't any open spots for males right now...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
