Georgetown Class of 2015
Just got in ED, so my cycle was pretty simple.
------
Here's the admitted students page, should be going up for real tomorrow (December 12th)
There'll be an "Early Admitted Students Reception" on January 26-27.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2015
I got a paralegal certificate from Georgetown, so I was able to get a couple of letters from there and mentioned it in my personal statement. I think that's the biggest thing that helped me, otherwise my numbers aren't nearly good enough.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2015
I'm in for the c/o 2015, not sure about attending yet though. Hopefully, GULC will be generous with the money this year! Must feel great for you ED'ers to know exactly where you'll be at next year this early. I'll see everyone at the open house in January!

two people have gotten scholarships with ED in the last 5 years or so on LSN, so yeah, GULC doesn't seem to give much cash to EDersIamIn wrote:it is going to be at sticker since ED is binding. So, yes I willdanitt wrote:Will you be attending if it's at sticker?IamIn wrote:got in today, ED

Checking in - GULC is looking more and more likely. And because I love DC/career goals are all inside the beltway.
Also...they made a Happy Holidays video of the snowy campus. So cute .

Accepted today.
Super excited, because originally GULC was one of the top 3 schools I wanted to attend.

I live in DC now, and I really don't want to leave! There's a big part of me that hopes all the T10 schools deny me (which will most likely be the case). That way, I won't think twice about going to Gtown. For those of you who are definitely attending, how do you know it is the right school for you?

It's $20,000 cheaper than Cornell.

Huh? With COL, how?Campagnolo wrote:It's $20,000 cheaper than Cornell.
I'm probably going to be at GULC if I don't get into the T6. I really, really don't want to live in a college town and I think the advantages of being able to volunteer/have internships & externships year-round would be out-weighed by going to "higher ranked" MVP & C (didn't apply to B because... lol west coast). I want to do PI in DC and connections are going to mean a lot more than, say, going to Michigan over Georgetown. People on TLS are so firm-obsessed that they ignore a lot of factors that go into choosing a school if you aren't going to a firm.
Also Georgetown has amazing LRAP and summer funding.

I live in DC, as well, and I don't want to leave either. I want to live and work in this city, so I believe GULC is the best choice for me..AS33 wrote:I live in DC now, and I really don't want to leave! Re: Georgetown Class of 2015
received the admissions letter just this morning!!
i was very worried at first because the envelope was about the size of my palm, but i guess the correlation between the size of the envelopes and the actual decision has just become an urban myth nowadays..
anyways, super excited!!! congrats to all the others that got in!! yay!

ED as well. Has anyone thought about where they are going to live. DC natives...any advice? I'm married so won't be living on campus.

yeah, it depends how much you are willing to pay. Also, make sure that it is either within walking distance from the school or not far from the metro. Buses are unreliable and parking near the school would be an issue.JDcand wrote:ED as well. Has anyone thought about where they are going to live. DC natives...any advice? Even though I'll regret it later, I want to live comfortably. I'm thinking $2K. Prefer 1 bed + den. Thanks for the help.danitt wrote:What's your price point?JDcand wrote:ED as well. If I were you I would live near the school. They have nice new apartment buildings there...JDcand wrote:Even though I'll regret it later, I want to live comfortably. I'm thinking $2K. Re: Georgetown Class of 2015
If you want to be walking distance, 5-10 mins away, you can look close to campus. If you don't mind taking the G2 to campus you could try Dupont Circle and environs. I would even go so far as Columbia Heights which would only make you commute a half hour or so. However, if someone says Bloomingdale or Petworth, your response should be no thank you.JDcand wrote:Even though I'll regret it later, I want to live comfortably. I'm thinking $2K.
