What type of law do you want to practice?

Post by hoyas2010 » Sat Mar 27, 2010 9:52 pm

This question relates more to those that want to go into "corporate" law. It seems like everyone I speak to (at least at my UG) wants to go into corporate law. Most of these people studied things like government/IR/poli sci and I am curious as to what would draw them into wanting corp other than the $$$. If you're interested in corporate law, what specialty do you intend to practice (assuming you could could find employment in that field). This is a completely useless thread but I am very curious to see what you guys think.

Bankruptcy, corporate/M&A, and/or tax. Throw in a pinch of IP and a sprinkling of antitrust here and there.

Figured I should use my $200k BA in econ somewhere. Plus I find accounting easy as cake.

I'm Poli Sci major and I have ZERO interest in corporate law. My highest ambition is to prosecute animal abuse cases.

Tax- though I won't mind if my firm puts me in financial restructuring.

Seriously!? I'm envious! If your serious I would very much love for you to give me your insight. I'm worried that I would come unglued and would have difficulty keeping my temper and "eye for an eye" mentality in-check.
