FIU off-campus housing
Where do most of the FIU law students live in Miami (off-campus)? I am looking for apartments/condos that are safe and close to school.
Thanks!

Yes, I do have a car, but I want to be relatively close to school.

I'm hispanic so my opinion is biased. I've had white friends and associates refer to the area around FIU as "Spanish Harlem."
Having said that, expect to pay a premium for the immediate area around FIU. I would opt for a nicer place in Doral for about the same price, which means a 15 minute drive on average or a place in Coral Gables should you be able to find a place within your price range - closer to UM, but still 15-20 mins to FIU.

I am in the same boat as you, I don't exactly know the Miamia area nor do I know anyone that attends FIU. I want to make sure to find law roommates (or med). I also want to pay in the 500-$650 range max, preferably with a bathroom. That is very realistic in Tampa where I go to school, so I'm hoping and trying to find the same in Miami.smh wrote:Where do most of the FIU law students live in Miami (off-campus)? Miami has a higher COL. Expect to pay more than that.Rocky111 wrote:I am in the same boat as you, I don't exactly know the Miamia area nor do I know anyone that attends FIU. I've noticed a lot of homes renting out rooms for <$600, however I really don't want to live in a spare bedroom with a family or anything. It seems like there are also 2-2s and things for $1100-$1200. Does that sound accurate?
