Re: Temple Class of 2014
sorry x7... but i have to agreed with condor on this one. i can also say i know people in law school now who are at the top of their class and were nowhere near top 10-15% in undergrad. i will always be the first one to say that a 4.0 doesn't mean you're smarter than the person sitting next you with a 3.0 nor does that mean you'll be more successful... of course the definition of success is completely relative. there are so many factors outside of intelligence that contribute to one's gpa. anyways... didn't really mean to get off on this random tangent... i'm tired and it's 87 degrees in my house ugharvcondor wrote:Ha. Re: Temple Class of 2014
The number isnt what's important, but the sentiment behind it. Everyone going to Temple Law is qualified to do so. We've all gotten good grades and high boards or else we wouldn't be able to get in to Temple. Someone who is qualified finishes at the top of the class, just as someone who is also qualified finishes at the bottom. Some people can't deal with that, and others can. Personally, I find that thought liberating but other people freak out when their performance forces the perception of themselves to be altered.Peace of Mind wrote:sorry x7... but i have to agreed with condor on this one. i can also say i know people in law school now who are at the top of their class and were nowhere near top 10-15% in undergrad. i will always be the first one to say that a 4.0 doesn't mean you're smarter than the person sitting next you with a 3.0 nor does that mean you'll be more successful... of course the definition of success is completely relative. there are so many factors outside of intelligence that contribute to one's gpa. anyways... didn't really mean to get off on this random tangent... i'm tired and it's 87 degrees in my house ugharvcondor wrote:Ha. That is fairly lame, but I've heard that's often the case with law school. I think a lot of the guys are in the same boat. Maybe Peace is single; if so Arvcondor, we'll need to have a duel over who gets to woo her. I was kidding, and I hate you...
Edit: I will say though, on a serious note, I think its going to be pretty tough to meet people(women in particular), while in law school. It just seems like a lot of people wouldn't want to put up with the horrible hours law students keep. I'm hoping its not 3 years of singleness.

I've thought about that, but I have mixed feelings about it. Yeah, finding someone super busy helps them understand your situation, but then you really never see each other. I don't know, I guess that's the route I'd take, only because it beats out someone with nothing to do except complain that you're never around.lolarvcondor wrote:Which is why I've begun asking out med students.Justathought wrote: Edit: I will say though, on a serious note, I think its going to be pretty tough to meet people(women in particular), while in law school. After going through a relationship in which I worked with and lived with my SO, this sounds marvelous.Justathought wrote:I've thought about that, but I have mixed feelings about it. I do think it would be more fun for condor to figure it out at the TLS meet and greet

That would work too. Just not at a generic meet and greet. We don't need him to expose his inner dork to everyone on day 1!Peace of Mind wrote:+1x7227 wrote:Investigating...you're doing it wrong...arvcondor wrote:I still haven't even pegged the identities of people besides hobbes and oreo.

As the philosopher Jagger once said, "You can't always get what you wanted...but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need."Justathought wrote:I will say though, on a serious note, I think its going to be pretty tough to meet people(women in particular), while in law school. Personally I subscribe to the maxim, "I stop wanting what I am looking for, looking for it." (but that also might explain why I'm single...)

I've only found two Californians so far. I think I can determine which one you are if you tell me how frequently you "like" things in the Facebook group.Peace of Mind wrote:+1x7227 wrote:Investigating...you're doing it wrong...arvcondor wrote:I still haven't even pegged the identities of people besides hobbes and oreo.

Move to West Philly, for God's sake. The only reason to live near Temple is for total convenience to campus, everything else about the area be damned.cesmoc wrote:Hey guys,
