Where are you living that public transit isn't an option?
And you might want to try the UChi 2Ls taking questions thread for details on parking on campus.

It was my general understanding that all of the student parking garages and lots are full and there's a waiting list and that if you want any reasonable chance of daily street parking you need to get there by about 7:30 or 8 in the morning. Otherwise it is essentially no man's land.

I got parking at 10:30 AM once. Had to drive about 3 long blocks south of the law school and a block or two west. I don't think I would have felt safe parking there after dark though.

Do you prefer to schedule taking the MBTI, or would you rather be spontaneous and take the MBTI whenever you feel like taking it?

Has anyone read the handbook yet? Did any one here know you had to live within the Chicago metropolitan area? Does anyone know if you can get a waiver on that?

Where do you live? The term "Chicago metropolitan area" is pretty vague, but it almost certainly includes anywhere that you could conceivably live and come to school five days a week.
If Wikipedia is to be trusted, you're fine if you live in Cook County or the counties bordering it:

I would think that as long as you live a reasonable enough distance away that you can show up to class every day they wouldn't care.

I'm apparently not on the UChi mailing list so I had to have someone forward it to me earlier today.

Happy section day!
It's been a while since I've been able to neurotically check something every half hour or so, so today will be fun.
