Re: GULC Class of 2014
I haven't gotten anything yet. I am hoping to get need based aid at least. I sent in my yellow form on the day it was released, and had already sent in a FAFSA and CSS.

Re: GULC Class of 2014
I'm gonna be attending GULC for a tax LLM next year, currently a 3L at UVA. I was thinking of living in Crystal City right next to the Metro (maybe here or something like it? --LinkRemoved--) and am looking for a roommate. Rent would probably in the $1000-1200 range per person. PM me if interested; I'm male, straight through from undergrad, don't smoke, relatively neat and quiet.

Re: GULC Class of 2014
Had a great time at day one of ASW - so great that I used day 2 to find an apartment.
Unless GW gives me significant $$$, which they won't, I'll be at GULC in the fall.

just withdrew from WUSTL after getting some need-based aid from GULC, so looks like unless I somehow get in off the waitlist at Mich, I'll be in DC next year!!
SO excited, I love GULC!

Do all incoming students who request on campus housing actually get it?

I certainly got the impression that if you want to live in Gewirz, you can. I wasn't too impressed, though, to be honest. They were very dorm like.bender18 wrote:Do all incoming students who request on campus housing actually get it?

Checking in. About 90% sure I'll be attending GULC in the fall, looking for (relatively) affordable housing for a married student (possibly in Arlington or Alexandria.)

How many of you are paying sticker? Just wondering because I'd thought about it. Right now their willingness to match or at least give me something in lieu of my $ from Texas is a major factor.

I am, but I'm also fortunate enough to not have to take out that entire amount in loans. Were I borrowing it all, I might be more hesitant. I'm also pretty set on PI/gov work, so I'm hoping to take advantage of their LRAP.TheOcho wrote:How many of you are paying sticker? Just wondering because I'd thought about it. This merits an expansion on what "dorm like" means. If you mean that the fixtures are a bit drab and institutional, etc, then yes, they are dorm-like. But in terms of how they are actually set up, they are apartments, not dorms. Everyone has their own bedroom, and you only share the bathroom and kitchen with others in your apartment. Plus, you can't beat the commute!Marionberry wrote:I certainly got the impression that if you want to live in Gewirz, you can. I wasn't too impressed, though, to be honest. Anyway, if you're a 1L and you request Gewirz, you will almost certainly get it. If you request a 1BR or a 3BR apartment, there's a chance you can wind up with a 2BR instead simply because the vast majority of apartments are 2BR apartments. But you'll still get in the building if you request it.

Re: Award Letter
Has anyone received Award offer yet? I completed Yellow Form on the first day it was available several weeks ago. Also have turned in FAFSA and Need Access. I still haven't heard from Financial Aid office.

All right i'll jump on this boat as well. Paying sticker and I am either super excited to be starting or scared out of my mind at the debt load i will face afterword. I can't really tell which one i feel more strongly about. Did some soul searching and realized that the whole reason why i wanted to be a lawyer in the first place was to do PI so the fact that GULC has a good LRAP and good reputation for that sort of work has given me some comfort.

Re: GULC Class of 2014
Update on Facebook group: I have received PMs from several of you, and will go ahead and friend everyone. However, I'm at work now so I can't access facebook, and it won't let me start a group on my phone. If everyone is okay with it, I will make the group when I get home tonight. Sorry for the delay!
Also, what name do ya'll prefer: Georgetown Law Class of 2014 and 2015(Part Time), or Georgetown Law Entering Class of 2011?

Are any of you guys do any BJJ/Judo/Submissions Wrestling? I'm excited to move to a part of the country that has such a huge bjj community and a lot of good schools Team Lloyd Irvin, Ryan Hall, etcetera but i'm worried about having time to train (school comes first) and having transportation. Do you know if GULC's fitness center offers any classes/if there are any clubs?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
