Ha i just read that bulletin out of curiosity... Did anyone notice the TEN bedroom house with EIGHT and a half bathrooms for rent in Fords Colony. Fords Colony is nice, but that is ridiculously big. Only 3K a month... That is reasonable for like 6 people... to live like kings...

Idk exactly where fords colony is located, but if it's within the city limits you can't legally have more than three unrelated adults living in one house. (but I'm pretty sure you're fine if it's in JCC or York, I'm just not entirely sure where fords colony is). Just something to keep in mind when house hunting...

Have you checked the list of apartments on the admitted students website? There are some in New Town.
yeah.. it all looks like basic, carpeted complexes a couple miles from campus. i've never been to w&m's campus (going on saturday!) is there no nicer downtownish area? or is it mostly just kinda suburb-ish with complexes?

Does anyone know if it becomes very difficult to find housing later in the summer in Williamsburg? I'll be renting somewhere with my family, and I'm trying to come up with a timeline for when I need to figure that out by. Thanks!

Hey! I went to ASW and I LOVED W&M and will be attending in the fall. Williamsburg and the campus is beautiful- very quaint. It is just a great little city and very close to Richmond, Norfolk, and DC. Its one of those towns with a strict building code so everything is all brick and really nice.

The law school is really nice... not connected to main campus so no annoying ungrads but really close (a few blocks) so the gym and such are convenient. It is like a block from Colonial Williamsburg (shopping and eating) so thats great, too. And the gradplex is literally next door to the law school. The Law school is a huge brick building... three stories I think with the library on the right and the classrooms, etc. on the left. It is really nice with a great student lounge coffee shop, nice classrooms, a great high-tech courtroom, etc. The students were really enthusiastic and LOVE W&M. They were all really impressed and had great things to say about the school. Great information: Honor Code means most teachers allow you to take exams anywhere in the law building you feel comfortable and some professors even let you wear headphones while testing! Many students emphasized the community feeling of the law school as well.

Anyone with other questions or anyone who wants to see like the 5 pictures I took just PM me.

OH... and anyone looking for a roommate in the fall for off campus... PM me.

Hey! I just went to ASW this weekend and loved the law school and Williamsburg. I took a bunch of pictures of the law school and town so PM me if you didn't get a chance to go this weekend and would like to see pictures.

Also, I am looking for one or two others for renting a place. PM me if you are interested in that, too!

I am looking to rent with someone (or more than one person) for at least the 1L year. I would like to pay in the area of 450-550 per month plus utilities. I'm 25, female and I have a dog and a cat and would love to find a place with a fenced in back yard.

Message me if you are also looking for roomates, we can chat on here or if you PM me I can give you my email too.

Just mailed in my check!

Also, I know this is creepy - but I typed in a few keywords on Webshots and found albums with pictures of the law school and pictures of inside the Gradplex.

So I'm flying out this weekend to scope out the law building and surrounding campus. Anything of particular interest that people think I should check out?

I'm liking, perhaps nerdily, the proximity of the grad housing to the law building, it's sure going to make me seem lazy if I can't muster the energy to drag myself to class.

Hit Jamestown & Yorktown if you are renting a car. I went on a ranger-led tour at Yorktown before ASW and it was excellent.

I'd certainly suggest touring the grad housing. I know a large amount of people did at the Admitted Students day. Being one of those people, I would say that the grad housing is not my first choice. The proximity to the law school is nice, but....

Visited the campus this weekend (waited for the bad weather to past first!), and I loved it. Will be attending in the fall.

I'm in at W&M and am strongly considering attending. Will probably take a trip from DC to Williamsburg this weekend. Can you pretty much get a feel for the place in a day or is it worth staying overnight? Am hoping to find some good housing options and to see if the student body and Williamsburg are a good fit.

Thanks! The visit went well yesterday- everyone seems so nice and there's a lot more to do in Williamsburg than I originally thought. I'll be paying my seat deposit this week and definitely want to live in New Town. I spent a couple hours with a very helpful and candid 3L who gave me a lot of advice/insight, so if any of you have any outstanding questions about W&M or the campus/Williamsburg, let me know!

Just made it official by mailing of my deposit this morning. I'm pumped for William & Mary!

Also: anyone else looking at the New Town area? I really, really like it, but feel like it's expensive and over-priced.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
