I only have one grade back and it's the one that counts the least toward my GPA (but it was higher than I expected thank goodness). First I was terrified, then I was excited, and now I'm terrified again. I'd like to know before I decide on write-on competitions. Some of the earlier comments here helped to relieve some anxiety though.RentAIC wrote:Anyone else feeling terrified as their grades trickle in?

So far I think I'm safe unless I really screwed up in Contracts. But I got a B in one class. I'm hoping that's just because someone killed the curve.tls_toddy wrote:I only have one grade back and it's the one that counts the least toward my GPA (but it was higher than I expected thank goodness). I still haven't seen a grade on my open memo and my current school's write-on is about to start. So that's infuriating, on top of not even knowing if I need to do the write-on at all.
I guess doing an extra Bluebook quiz can't hurt though.

Coming a little late to this. Was accepted EA: 3.7, top 10% from a regional school ranked between 45-60. Like Georgetown a lot and think I'll probably end up here, but also applying broadly throughout the T-14.

I was deferred. Today, I received an e-mail today saying the University would review an unofficial transcript from the spring semester to expedite the process.
Any of the deferral candidates already send in their spring grades? I'm still waiting on my last class.

My grades dipped below the 3.2 mark (waiting for one more grade to confirm) but got 2 B+'s and 2 B-'s essentially I'm screwed and don't know what to do. I'm dying. If they revoke my offer I will die.Transfer2021 wrote:I would try not to worry about it until you have something to worry about. Having said that, I suspect they won't revoke an offer unless it's catastrophic. Many schools don't accept transfer grades lower than C. Not sure what the GULC policy is on transfer credits, but I'd think if that's their policy, you could get as low as a C in a single course and probably be OK. This is speculation. Fingers crossed for you.tls_toddy wrote:I'm wondering if anyone has had their transfer admission anywhere revoked for dipping below a 3.2? My last final was rough. Also scared my classmates figured out what they did wrong last semester.
I sent in my deposit waiver and withdrew from all other schools, so if the sh** hits the fan GPA-wise, I will have to remain at my own 1L school (or I suppose start applying for transfer elsewhere). Let's hope that doesn't happen to any of us.

Is GULC only sending application decisions via regular mail? No email?

Re: GULC EA/RD Transfer 2019
@dizzydog I believe acceptances are mail but deferral and rejections are email.
@lolo did you get your last grade back? If you're close enough to 3.2 they probably wouldn't rescind but idk.
I was pretty consistent to last semester despite not feeling great about my last final. Grades are so hard to predict. I could have easily been at the 3.2 line if that test had been the disaster I thought it was.
Also just as a heads up for the admits dont forget about the tuberculosis screening, fin aid forms, and their write on competition - all of that information is on their website/through emails.

In past years, when do deferred students usually receive decisions?

Re: GULC EA/RD Transfer 2019
I think along with the RD applicants. I'm pretty sure the deadline to apply is Friday? At least that's what a classmate said to me who decided to make the last minute decision to go for it.
My hunch is they will start rolling out admissions decisions and waitlist decisions starting late June through early July so that people can participate in EIW/OCI and write-on, and then there might be sporadic acceptances off the waitlist throughout the summer until they send out an email in August saying all the spots are filled. The 2016 thread has some discussion on this but you may want to look at the RD threads from years past to get a sense of the timeline.

Mainly just echoing toddy about using past threads as a guideline. Looks like some deferred folks received feedback as early as mid-June last year

If using last year as a guide, looks like the last day anyone had any action was Jul. 26, the last Thursday in July. This year, it falls on a Friday. So I'd say use that as a guide. I'm not sure if they'd do the same as they do in the regular admissions process, where people can be waitlisted until school has already started.

Re: GULC EA/RD Transfer 2019
From the Write On FAQ's:
DO I NEED TO BE ADMITTED BEFORE I CAN PURCHASE A PACKET?
No. You may purchase and complete a Write On packet even if you have yet to be admitted. You must, however, be admitted before we post results. Any transfer student who participates but is not admitted by July 29, 2019, will be dropped from the competition and may not compete the following year. Please note that if you do not purchase the packet and are admitted after this year's purchasing deadline of July 3, 2019, you will be eligible to compete in the 2020 Transfer Write On Competition.

Re: GULC EA/RD Transfer 2019
Does anyone know if there are any implications for course registration? I.e. if I register now are there going to be any issues for withdraw later this summer if I get accepted as a transfer student elsewhere?
It seems unlikely but I can’t find anything on this topic.

My guess is so long as you withdraw before the add/drop period there is no tuition penalty. Good luck on your other apps!

Hey guys, just figured I’d share my “program time” on the status checker updated from “both,” since I applied to both full-time and part-time, to “part-time” just now. Hopefully that means we will hear something today and this wasn’t some weird glitch with mine haha. Good luck everyone!

I am in! RD! I checked the address change and then half an hour later, I received the acceptance email! The DDL to submit deposit is 6/26, and the DDL for OCI is 7/2/2019.

What is the status change that you guys are referring to? Does this apply to only people who applied to both part time and full time programs? Or is it a "good" thing if the status report says a program at all?

Re: GULC EA/RD Transfer 2019
I think the post from previous years mentioned the address change, for example, if you wrote “ave. Apt.” And later it changes to Avenue, apartment, it means you will receive a decision soon! It happens to me today.dizzydog wrote:What is the status change that you guys are referring to? Does this apply to only people who applied to both part time and full time programs? Seriously? What are you waiting for?
