What's everyone taking? O&G Contracts, PR, Construction Law, and Evidence with Bellin for me.

Pretty much the same. I want to take the MPRE this summer so I don't have to fool with it before the BAR or during school.chrisokc wrote:What's everyone taking? O&G Contracts, PR, Construction Law, and Evidence with Bellin for me.

Re: SMU Class of 2013/2014
I want to take Evidence with Bellin badly, but that extra Monday is killing me. If I take it, I will have to drive down for that class, drive home, then drive back later for Construction law.
If I do the night class, I can only show up 2 days a week. I also badly want to do Construction law, but it doesn't fit with a damned thing.
Trying to arrange a schedule with an externship sucks.
I'm thinking about Evidence at night, International Crimes with Turner, Social Media Law, White Collar Crime.
Anyone know anything about Browning?

PR with Weaver is supposed to be a beating, and she is supposed to be a ridiculously hard grader.HBK wrote:Pretty much the same. It kind of pisses me off we don't get a grade for it but the Clinic people do. I guess I understand why but it seems like a lot of work for no grade at all.kalvano wrote:Trying to arrange a schedule with an externship sucks.
Is anybody taking the Texas Rangers Bankruptcy class?

Externships are for credit. Internships are not.fathergoose wrote:It kind of pisses me off we don't get a grade for it but the Clinic people do. I guess I understand why but it seems like a lot of work for no grade at all.kalvano wrote:Trying to arrange a schedule with an externship sucks.

Take Dorsaneo. He's entertaining, you learn a ton, his test is easy, and...it's Dorsaneo.bass08 wrote:Any thoughts on the following class/professor combos?

Have him sign your textbook.

Anyone have thoughts on the professors that teach any of the bankruptcy classes?

Hale's awesome. He's a judge so he really knows his stuff and can really teach it well.Burgstaller04 wrote:Anyone have thoughts on the professors that teach any of the bankruptcy classes?
Here's a question for the evening students- can you guys enroll in day classes immediately, or is there a restricted delay? Because I tried to enroll in evening classes and the system wouldn't let me do it yet.
For forty grand, I'm pretty disappointed in SMU's schedule. This schedule sucks. They're not offering many classes, a bunch of classes conflict as far as test dates, and here's a tip, if PR fills up before the 2Ls have a chance to enroll, maybe you should offer more than one day class or let day students enroll in the evening class.
/end rant

You should be able to do it on access.smu. I had a $5 hold for my DART pass and that's how I got rid of it.Thirteen wrote:Yep, if I can ever register. My page is fucking up. I'll just take care of it when I head to school in an hour for BE.Burgstaller04 wrote:You should be able to do it on access.smu. Also, I second that Hale is a great teacher.

Heard a lot of positive things from people who have taken it with him. He's apparently smart and funny and really knows BE quite well. Fair exam, not a hard grader but not easy either.

Not as easy in the grading, but far more fun to take.DavidB wrote:Any comparison to Norton?kalvano wrote:Heard a lot of positive things from people who have taken it with him. I really enjoyed his class. He enjoys teaching and it comes through in the classroom.HBK wrote:Any thoughts on Steinberg for BE?
He is a harder grader. I believe he has to bump his raw grades UP to fit the curve.

This course jumped out at me:
"LAW 6208 - BAR EXAM SURVEY AND PREPARATION: This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the contents of the bar exam... This course is limited to students in their last semester before graduation."
Is this new? I don't remember seeing this last year.

No idea how he is as a prof but he got screwed out of being on the Supreme Court. He was 5th Circuit and was the one everyone wanted in the 80s but didn't get picked. I imagine he has to be a good prof to be at that level.kalvano wrote:Someone school me on Higginbotham for Con Law. Easy grader? Hard? Decent prof?
