This was discussed on page 11 of the forum.chisoxfan wrote:So I took a visit to the bookstore and was wondering if people are planning on doing all of their book shopping in the bookstore or online? In undergrad I bought my books used online and that worked for the most part. Do any current/past students have comments to offer on this subject?
Also, I got an email from UConn today telling me that I need to send in my immunization form. I know that this has been discussed previously, but I'm just wondering if there are people here who still haven't done it? I'm having difficulties getting my my records since I don't have a primary care physician at the moment to complete the form. Was anyone else in this position?

Re: UConn Class of 2013
I got an email yesterday (or the day before?) about the immunization, saying we have to do it by August 20 to preserve our seat in the class . Well, will they kick us out if we don't ?? I better get started on that...
Also, I haven't obtained CT residency yet. Probably won't get that done until a few days before orientation. Is that too late?

Re: UConn Class of 2013
Hey incoming 1L's. I'm a current 2L at Uconn and I am about to move out of my current apartment. I just posted some info about it on the facebook page, but I figured I'd post here too in case some of you aren't members. Basically I've loved living in my house this year but I'm moving in with some friends to save some $. The apartment is a one bedroom on the third floor of a house located on the corner of Kenyon and Fern streets, only a block from the law school. You would have your own kitchen, bathroom and staircase/entrance. The rent is $800 a month for everything, including heat, an air conditioning unit, electricity, water, wi-fi and cable. There is also the option of having it come partially furnished with couches and a desk. The landlord, Paul, is great and lives on the first two floors. If you're interested, pm me with questions and I can put you in touch!

registeredpatriot, not yet. I called the school a week or so ago and asked when we'd get it, though, and they said this week.

Does anyone know if UConn has a good deal on student licenses for microsoft office? I'm trying to decide if it's worth just buying a PC that comes preloaded with it from Best Buy is a good deal or if UConn has a student price. Tried looking on the school's vendor site but couldn't find any info.

I started yesterday since I'm officially unemployed and have nothing better to do until I move, haha... it's a good story which makes for a good read, but there are a lot of details and it's pretty slow moving. The book has an index so hopefully that will come in handy for the quiz? oh brother, this feels like high school (the mysterious quizzes).registeredpatriot wrote:anyone start the reading for Pandya's quiz on the 29th?

Those of you in Pandya's class. I have a pretty awesome outline for the Damages book (it WILL help you on the quiz). If you want it PM me with your email address and I will send it to you or just email me at drew.schaffer82@gmail.com.
Good luck and enjoy the rest of your summer - you can thank me at orientation (I'm an orientation leader)

Re: UConn Class of 2013
I'm about halfway through the Damages book. I wouldn't get too worked up about the quiz. According to the syllabus posted by Pandya on TWEN, the final exam counts for 95% of the final grade. The last 5% is quizzes, exercises, and class participation.
So if anything, you should start stressing out about the final exam instead. hahaha

MSFarley,
Yes you are correct, when I took the class 1L year the quiz really didn't count for anything but it is still nice not to be flustered when you take it. Good luck with Pandya...he's a good guy and like I said his bark is worse than his bite.

Also...FYI...Pandya invites Michael Koskoff and Bill Doyle to class and it is HILARIOUS to listen to them b/c they still bicker a bit about it. Koskoff will give you a "life's lessons" speech too.

FYI, if you have lawyering process with Jennifer Mailley, which is section 4, there are now assignments posted on TWEN.

Re: UConn Class of 2013
Hey guys,
I'm going to be at happy hour at Half Door tonight with a couple of my buddies (down the street from the law school). I will be there from like 5:30 to 7:30. If you guys have any questions or anything before starting up, feel free to stop by and ask away or just say hi. I am wearing a blue polo and khaki pants - I know this because I'm going directly from work and not because I lay my outfit out in advance. I look forward to meeting and talking to anyone who may end up stopping by.

Has anyone heard anything about the specifics of orientation? Like what time and where? Thanks.

Re: UConn Class of 2013
That is just awful, awful news, Burger I don't want to divulge too much info., but I live in an area a couple of hours away from NYC with a good sized Italian population and the pizza here is AMAZING. I've grown up on really good pizza and it is just disappointing to know that I will have to sacrifice yet another thing while in law school. I am already going to live without cable TV, and now pizza too...

Re: UConn Class of 2013
SUPER IMPORTANT QUESTION:
What are you all using for internet service in your homes/apartments?? AT&T has DSL for the first year for $19.99 and $45.00 after the first year. Is that decent??? I'm in West Hartford about 5 minutes away from campus and don't know what different options there are. Wondering what you all have ?? Any good reliable ISPs with good prices ?? Help would be appreciated !
