Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I really like WUSTL just went to the admitted students day there last Friday (2/26) and it is definitely one of my top choices. Their scholly offer was a little low though compared to some other schools so I am not 100% sure about Wash U yet.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
Just sent out a last minute app today. I knocked my Feb. retake out of the park and now I'm suddenly competitive here. WUSTL was at the top of my list before I bombed the LSAT in Sept. and then faltered in Dec. as well. Now it's back on.
Ok...I'll shut up now because this is an admitted students thread and I haven't been admitted yet. But here's to some wishful thinking!

Yeah seems a little weird considering that WUSTL thread in the acceptances section of the site is well over 100 pages long, but hey we have this thread here now so we are good. What would put WUSTL in the number 1 spot for you?Sauer Grapes wrote:I'm not 100% yet either, but it's my best guess.
Was surprised that this thread hadn't been started yet.
(to JCougar good luck man congrats on the lsat)

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I'd say there's above an 80% chance I end up at WUSTL. My chances at other schools just depend on too many things. Heavy splitter, no WE, late apps at Michigan and Georgetown (my best shots at remaining schools), and I think it would take 30k minimum at any school other than Columbia to lure me away after the news I got on the 25th. 80% may even be too low given all of those facts.

I'm looking at about a 90% certainty of being there in the fall.

60%-70% sure I'll be there. How was admitted students weekend? The last weekend in March isn't the best for me, does anyone who went think it is worth it to attend the official day?

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
i'm deferred at cornell and waitlisted at vandy. i think i have a 1/4 or chance of getting off the vandy waitlist and slim to no chance of getting into cornell, so i'll place the likeliness of me being in st. louis next fall at 75%.

I really liked their admitted students weekend. It gives you an opportunity to talk to students, professors, alumni, and the deans. If you are on the fence I would go because the admitted students day really pushed WUSTL up for me. From the professors to the students to the alumni, I was really impressed with their message and what the school was all about.jks289 wrote:60%-70% sure I'll be there. Good to know! Thanks. I think I'll just have to get creative with my schedule.Rovias wrote:I really liked their admitted students weekend. Agreed. Dean Syverud may have been the high point of the day for me... I can see why they poached him away from Vandy.Rovias wrote:I really liked their admitted students weekend. I'm 98% sure I'll be there in the fall. Last week I was 100% sure I'd be at a different school, but that scholarship means a lot. I'm still a little shocked that one email made me change my set-in-stone plans. Yikes.
I'm abroad and can't go to any of the admitted student days. If any of the people who went to one could tell a bit more about their experiences, I'd really appreciate it!

The facilities are incredible; visiting again reaffirmed that fact. The alumni/current student panels told us that the school searches out specific firms located in individual students' regions of interest, and that the dean will personally help you with your job search if you ask. Medium size yet individual attention and an emphasis on teaching rather than just research/scholarship were the biggest non-look-at-our-awesome-campus/buildings points they presented. In school happy hours in the courtyard are solid, toopanadera wrote:I'm 98% sure I'll be there in the fall. Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
There are two parking garages right next to the law school building both of them needed permits (not sure if you have to pay for the permits or not), but that is where they had us park for the ASD and it was really easy to get there in the morning like 5-7 mins or so from 3-4 miles away.Sauer Grapes wrote:Does anyone know what the parking situation is like on campus? Is it a pain to commute in with a car?
Now that the construction on 40 is done, I know traffic-wise it won't be horrible, but I'm more concerned with parking.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I have been to a number of schools (both higher ranked and lower ranked), and WUSTL's campus and facilities are undoubtedly the nicest I have seen. I know, I know... nice facilities and location only go so far, and job prospects should trump everything. But I really cannot think of a negative thing to say about WUSTL so far. Their campus is awesome, I love St. Louis, their admissions office is friendly and top notch, and their scholarship was great.stratocophic wrote:The facilities are incredible; visiting again reaffirmed that fact. I'm going to up my prediction from the other day and say my odds are 95% of attending WUSTL. The only thing that could drag me away from WUSTL is a matching scholarship from Vanderbilt (unlikely) or an acceptance off the waitlist from Michigan.

I'll see your 95% and raise it to 96%.romothesavior wrote:I have been to a number of schools (both higher ranked and lower ranked), and WUSTL's campus and facilities are undoubtedly the nicest I have seen. anyone know the cost of tuition for those entering 2010?....i'm sure it's higher than the $41,670 for those entering in 2009 but don't know the exact amount. I'll call tommorow morning and post it here if no one else comes up with the answer first.

School of Law: The 2010-11 tuition for the Juris Doctor program will be $43,420, an increase of $1,750 (4.2 percent) over the current charge of $41,670, and the LLM program at $43,610, an increase of $1,760 (4.2 percent) over the current charge of $41,850.
