I spoke to Dean Anne Richards two days ago, who said that at this point the chances of getting a second-round scholarship offer are extremely slim. Which is not to say it won't happen for any of you, just that I wouldn't count on it.

I, for one, am withdrawing my Cardozo app/scholarship and am putting down my deposit at GW paying sticker. Yes, I know. I feel semi-sort of-better knowing that I can at least get federal loans/rates to cover everythign I'm taking out.

Just got in yesterday...the only school so far that has not offered me money and it had to be the one that costs $70,000. Seriously...$70,000? How is that even possible?

You can bring that number down drastically in a variety of ways. Get a roommate or two, live outside the city, cook cheap food for yourself regularly, etc.

At least that's what I think. And what's been said here before. But I could be wrong. I'd look into it.

Yeah, I'll look into it...just a pretty crazy number to wrap your mind around.

Yeah, I called the financial aid office and spoke to someone unguardedly for about 20 minutes before she actually identified herself as Anne Richards haha. But she was honestly as nice as could be. I know that when it comes to law schools and stuff, numbers and rankings are really important but I think there has to be a gut feeling, too. I hated the way I was treated/spoken to at GULC and Fordham and so far have had great experiences with GW staff.

I hope I get to talk to her on april 2nd-ish when I call her regarding the waitlist. I also wish she would understand my great interest in GW and my willingness to pay sticker to attend.

I'm tempted to e-mail her again but scared that it might annoy her. She just didn't respond to my e-mail (maybe its because they are busy.)...

GW FTW!

I just got my acceptance packet in the mail. GW is the only school I've heard back from so far, but the merit scholarship of $105k will make my school decision very tough if the T14 doesn't offer me $$. I guess the choice will be easy if nobody else accepts me though.

I got a very friendly e-mail from a 2L.

But it was all about IP stuff. Not really relevant to me personally, but I suppose I appreciate the gesture!

i can't say for sure, but it sounded like there was a second round under consideration that hadn't been extended yet; I think its sort of an ongoing thing that could happen at any time.

Hi guys. Long time listener, first time caller, here. Got my acceptance packet in the mail about a month ago. I figured I'd jump in on GW 2013 and meet some of my potential peers. I flew up to DC a few weeks back, and got a real good feel for the school and even more so for the city. Good luck to all! :D

Not to be a loser, but I'm getting pretty pumped for preview day. Has anyone booked a hotel yet? I'm not sure where to stay...

Has anyone here attended the accepted students reception in their town? I'm going to one tonight and was wondering what to expect.

Thanks!

Hellllooo, colleagues! Show of hands, preview event attendees? I'm staying at the Melrose; it's close to campus and very close to the Aston.

Well it's official, Dinged at Duke and Penn this weekend. Not that it would have mattered much, I'm in love with GW and so psyched that this cycle's over. I'll be sending in my deposit this week and also be attending admitted students day!

I'll be there. It's the last thing that will be informing my decision (I'll be at Vandy for an informal visit the previous weekend).

It's probably going to feel a little stressful. gah.

This thread is only 3 pages long? Really???

Anyway, I've finally chosen GW (as I knew I would all along!) over UVA, UCLA, USC, Georgetown, etc. etc. Can't wait to meet you all and more of our future classmates at the admitted students day April 9th!!

I haven't either, so we're still all in the same boat. I'll start rocking it eventually if still nothing.
