Critique My Bid List - UT (urgent)

Post by aspiringlaw » Wed Jul 04, 2018 8:29 pm

Hey all,

You've all been of great help in the past, so I'm hoping that maybe you'all will have some advice for me.

I am a rising 2L at UT with a 3.6GPA, and I'm struggling with my bid list. We're allowed 61 bids, and then we get up to 25 interviews. The ratio is 70% lottery, 30% pre-select.

The deadline is tommorow at noon, and per usual I procrastinated, so don't be shy to impart some wisdom. I'm also struggling to find more firms to apply to outside of the 48 I have.

My preference for where I want to end up is Cali>NY>Texas (but I want to balance that with a reasonable chance of actually getting biglaw) and I'm only interested in litigation.

Thanks a lot!

Add Wilson Sonsini and Goodwin, for starters - huge in California.

If NY is your second choice, you're missing like, all of the large-class-size NY firms: PW, DPW, STB, Cleary, S&C, Debevoise, CSM, Sidley. I assume a 3.6 at UT is good, and you're bidding Quinn super high, so you should have the grades for the above too.
