Do you think that this would help or hurt me? // Do you think that having interviewed for the 1L diversity positions bears any positive or negative weight in the 2L hiring process generally? I know that some places like Skadden will move people directly to callbacks, but I'm not sure if that is the general practice, or Skadden is an exception.

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
I was accepted to a secondary journal yesterday. Is it worth notifying the firms that I've reached out to but have heard nothing back from? Or is anything that isn't law review not really worth it?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
It is possible it depends on the school/firm/journal, but I am at a D/N/C/B and will be notifying the places I am interested in and haven't heard back from if/when I get onto any journal, not just LRAnonymous User wrote:I was accepted to a secondary journal yesterday. I know 9/10 V10s have done screeners or CBs with someone at my school

Which one isn’t? Does your school have a strict OCI policy or not?Anonymous User wrote:I know 9/10 V10s have done screeners or CBs with someone at my school

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
It's beneficial to notify them. Many employers are looking for any journal experience at all - not just LR. While LR is the most presitgious and says something implicit about your grades/ranking, employers are also interested in your general writing ability/co-curriculars.Anonymous User wrote:It is possible it depends on the school/firm/journal, but I am at a D/N/C/B and will be notifying the places I am interested in and haven't heard back from if/when I get onto any journal, not just LRAnonymous User wrote:I was accepted to a secondary journal yesterday. It can't hurt you; it can only put you a step above anyone who applies without journal experience.

And no, my school has basically no policy on pre-OCI. Not encouraged, not discouraged. Lower T-14.

I know someone with a White & Case interview (unclear whether it's CB or screener), but they have a major connection there.

Yes to CB. No screeners. Cravath is scheduled after our OCI begins, rest are before.Anonymous User wrote:Did you go straight to CB at all these? Re: Pre-OCI 2018
I think people should be aware here that context really matters. Some firms use pre-OCI as a way to recruit from schools that are either far away or where they're only going to take 1 or 2 associates from (Berkeley, Stanford, etc.) Others use it as a way to get top talent.Anonymous User wrote:DC callbacks and offers (not necessarily both for all the listed firms, some have made offers some have only done callbacks):

Poster who posted list. These callbacks and offers went out to median and above median students at a t13 (Duke/UVA). Most of the students who have received these callbacks/offers are currently working in DC.Anonymous User wrote:I think people should be aware here that context really matters. Being at one of the two schools you mentioned, I know that no one from that school in DC has gotten a CB or a screener or an offer. So.Anonymous User wrote:Poster who posted list. Then you must be at the other school then. I have no reason to make up a random list on here. People wanted a list from an earlier poster, so I am providing people with a list.Anonymous User wrote:Being at one of the two schools you mentioned, I know that no one from that school in DC has gotten a CB or a screener or an offer.
