Responding to offer -- holding offer

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:17 pm

I'm looking for examples of emails where I say thanks for the offer, I'll get back to you soon. I really liked the firm and will probably accept, but am still going to complete my other CBs next week just to see. I plan to accept next Friday if I don't like my other CB firms as much as this one.

Does anyone have examples? Or links to threads they know of that have advice on this? Thanks!

I just said something along the lines of: "I am thrilled about the offer ... I loved everyone I met during my visit .. Accordingly, I expect to have an answer for you relatively soon. Thanks again .. we will be in touch."

Simple and straight forward. No need to over-explain. Just confirm receipt of the offer within 14 days per NALP guidelines and make sure to decide within 28 days.

Thanks. I ended up just sending it and agree. Here's what I sent for anyone that looks at this in the future:

Hello [X],

I received your message and rather than waiting until Monday to call, wanted to send an email saying thank you very much for the offer of employment next summer! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and think the firm would be a great place to work. I plan to let you know my decision soon, as I suspect it will be an easy one.

[Thanks again; something personal about meeting; well wishes for attorney's court thing next monday]

Best,
me
