Seems like HQ would be all wrapped up if they sent offers out weeks ago. Additionally, it seems unlikely that regional offices would have held any interviews during this packed holiday week. Hopefully they resume after the 1st. Anyone think the debt ceiling could become an issue with hiring? Last I heard, they'd only extended funding a couple of weeks.Anonymous User wrote:Are we assuming all DOL HQ offers have been sent out?Anonymous User wrote:I wasn’t aware they’ve done any first round interviewsAnonymous User wrote:Have any DOL regional offices done second round interviews yet?

I posted earlier but I had a first round regional interview along with the HQ first round. Never heard anything since.

The initial interview isn't the same as the regional interview. Yes, it's technically for both. However, there is a second interview at the regional office, if they are interested in you. It doesn't sound like anyone has received an offer for a regional interview yet. At least no one on here.Anonymous User wrote:I posted earlier but I had a first round regional interview along with the HQ first round. Never heard anything since.

What do you mean? I had an interview with 2 different people with one being from the regional office since I put that in my cover letter. So that wasn’t regional?

This happened initially, as in you had two separate interviews back in September or October? Maybe you are an anomaly. Do you go to school in the same city as one of the regional offices? Seems as though the normal course is to have an initial interview with 2 people (Doesn't seem to be any ryme or reason why certain interviewers visited or called certain candidates). In my case, my OCI screeners were both from regional offices. However, this interview was the general interview and serves as the only one for HQ. Then, candidates are contacted by regional offices to come to their office and interview for that specific office. It does not sound like this second stage has even begun yet.Anonymous User wrote:What do you mean? Anyone hear how the debt ceiling may impact hiring? (Specifically at the DOL)

As far as I know, the debt ceiling isn’t up until Marchish and people aren’t that concerned about a deal in Congress. The real issue is the government funding bill (deadline within a couple weeks?). That being said the two realistic options—when it comes to funding levels—look to be a CR or a shutdown (which, of course, won’t last forever). If CR, hiring presumably goes on as planned.

Yes, I couldn't remember the more immediate deadline. I think it was pushed a couple of weeks ago (This mean the new deadline may be this week?). I hope this whole debacle doesn't royally f*** candidates like in prior years. Talk about a nightmare! (Only thing worse would be bartending after law school)Anonymous User wrote:As far as I know, the debt ceiling isn’t up until Marchish and people aren’t that concerned about a deal in Congress. Means we have different screeners. I can only speculate that you will hear in the coming weeks whether or not you will have an additional interview or also be dinged.Anonymous User wrote:So what does not having been dinged mean yet mean?Anonymous User wrote:I just got dinged via email. I heard that DOT sent emails asking for continued interest to the top 25 finalists.

Have any qualified USACE candidates been contacted by a regional office yet?

Do those who are regarded as qualified receive some type of notification other than being contacted by a regional office?Anonymous User wrote:Have any qualified USACE candidates been contacted by a regional office yet?

The process for me was that I was sent an e-mail about a week after my “qualifying interview” (second round interview) with the chief counsel saying I was qualified and to look out for contacts from the regional officesAnonymous User wrote:Do those who are regarded as qualified receive some type of notification other than being contacted by a regional office?Anonymous User wrote:Have any qualified USACE candidates been contacted by a regional office yet?

Are there any EPA honors positions open this year? The website gives a February 1st deadline, but it has not been updated since 2016. USA USAJobs is also quiet. Any information on a potential 2018 program with OGC or the regional offices out there?

Thank you! I had an OCI interview on, I believe, Sept. 19th and a qualifying interview on Dec. 13thAnonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:The process for me was that I was sent an e-mail about a week after my “qualifying interview” (second round interview) with the chief counsel saying I was qualified and to look out for contacts from the regional officesAnonymous User wrote:Do those who are regarded as qualified receive some type of notification other than being contacted by a regional office?Anonymous User wrote:Have any qualified USACE candidates been contacted by a regional office yet?

I emailed the EPA OGC contact listed on the website and she said they're under a hiring freeze and the position will not be filled at this time.Anonymous User wrote:Are there any EPA honors positions open this year? Re: Honors Programs 2017-2018 (Non-DOJ)
They are still conducting some 'qualifying interviews' and I am not sure if the district offices have received all, or any, of the already qualified names. I was told that HQ would be compiling a qualified list and then would send out the list, broken up by regional preferences, but perhaps it is done in parts to give district offices a head start on hiring so they don't wait for the entire list.Anonymous User wrote:I had an OCI interview on, I believe, Sept.
