This may not help much but from what I recall they were still at 145k starting like 2 years so I almost guarantee they haven't moved all the way to 180k. Maybe they're finally at 160k?

My friend who works at Nixon said they are below market. I didnt ask for specific starting salary but would assume that it's $160,000.

Thanks for the Nixon info. I know nalp says 160 but I've heard conflicting information. So this means Nixon is the only firm in the fault 75 or whatever to not be 180 I guess.

If partnership taxes drop to 15%, auto increase to 200k and higher bonuses? Cause that seems only logical considering associates will now be taxed at higher rates than partners

Deep in midtown, DPW partners meet:

"Now that the taxes on income are lower, the deduction for associate pay is less. We shouldn't take on that INCREASE. Lets offer then 125k, more diversity programs, and a fooseball table."

I must not be seeing this but I hope you're right because almost a decade without a raise was insane given the rising cost of law school and rent over the same time frame. Though the massive recession had a huge impact as well so the timing was probably off.

Hope you all positive think your way into a raise.

Since you're so into history, notice that raises come in bunches.

Yes this is just like the 90s and the pre recession boom. Thanks though.

I'm down for another pre-recession boom if it means NYC to 200k

Can confirm it's 160k at major markets. Their billable requirements may be a little less than others (1,850).

grades??

Thanks again. Just wanted some clarity after 6 months of mixed signals. Hopefully it gets bumped up soon

The original plan was for NYC to go to 190, but then it went to 180 instead. Everyone kind of stumbled around in confusion for a year. But now I think the industry has righted itself and we're back on schedule for 190.

ATL keeping up with its practice of predicting ten out of every five rounds of layoffs. http://abovethelaw.com/2017/07/higher-p ... e-looming/

At the very least we have to feel pretty good about bonuses going up this year absent a recession in the next 4 months

Any validity to ATL's doom and gloom about looming big law layoffs?
