I thought I'd create this thread as registration opened last week. Post away about acceptances, dings, and the like.

Anyone interview/table talk with Brooklyn Defender Service's Immigration Practice in previous years? Any tips would be appreciated!

Checking in! I've submitted most of my apps for the jobs that have already been posted but I keep checking for more, since I heard some places don't post until right before the deadline. Applying for post-grad PD positions and some fellowships. I can't wait!!

Ash - kind of remember your post from the 3L Public Defenders forum. Maybe I'll bump into you at the EJW Fair; it'd be nice to meet someone who wants to be a pd as well! And hopefully we'll both be public defenders next year!

Yeah, it's nice to meet another PD wannabe! Yeah, I post in that thread a lot, I'm just usually anonymous, just in case (cause I'm totally paranoid). There's gonna be lots of PD wannabes at EJW - I can't wait!!

So, if my GPA is above a 3.0 but still below median, should I put it on the resume?

this might be a stupid question, but is EJW only for 3Ls or can 2Ls go also?

I am sad that there are so few FTLT positions that aren't PDs... :|

While I've never interned for the "dark-side", my resume has 0 PD experience and plenty of victim-centric experience (U/T visas, VAWA self-petitions). I doubt that the PDs would even take a sniff at me.

My Dean of Students said that 2 page resumes were OK for postgrad fellowships--should I follow her advice?

Should I bring everything to table talks, even if the employer does not ask for them in their posting? (i.e. resume, cover letter, references, transcript, and writing sample)

Hi all. Checking in too.

I heard something similar, but when I realistically think about all the applications they will get it almost seems like it's a hinderance. Plus, certain HR offices might be annoyed and I don't want to chance it. However, I still am having this debate and I'm curious how others are approaching it.

Yeah I always hear wildly different opinions from folks in CSO and on here. worldtraveler and Nony have FTLT jerbs and apparently used 2 page resumes.

EJW's the same week as a trial for my clinic. Damn, it's going to be hellish in late October!

All employers have posted. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of cover letters I'm going to have to write in the next week!

I have a 3.006 GPA from a T30--should I put that on my resume or not?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
