That's not funny. I know people who went into biglaw with that attitude and I hope it works out for them. It's actually a great plan if you want a certain job, like in house, where it practically is the only way.

But yes I agree that it would be funny in an interview.

Most in house jobs are objectively terrible in just about every way except for hours/stress.

I don't follow... I'd think someone was a stupid shithead if they said they were planning to become a partner at whichever biglaw shop they work at after graduation, but I'd think the opposite if they acknowledged that their time in biglaw is likely to be short-lived.

What if someone is in their third year of law school, has accumulated a lot of debt, has summered in "biglaw", and wants to "work in biglaw for a while" so as to pay off their debt as quickly as possible and to put themselves in a position where they could work in a different, less taxing position in a few years? They are incorrect about this? Is the reason they are incorrect because no matter the benefits, having to work with a bunch of cryptic, pompous, whiney assholes for any amount of time not worth it?
