Whomever received the USAO offer, can you please pm me? Not a candidate, but someone who is interested in applying the future. Just want to get as much advice as possible.

ENRD, "Selected for Interview" status on Avue. Mind-boggling, but need to be concentrating on exams - either way, they are coming next week. Good luck everyone.

Does anyone know what level of clearance you have to get for an EOIR clerk? Secret, Top Secret, etc.

Current JLC here. it's just a background check - but you still have to fill out the same form that you do for the secret clearance. and you have to get your fingerprints done. and for the person asking above - my husband did not have to submit any information on his own but I of course had to include is info and SSN on the background check paperwork. I actually thought it was clearance... but then I never heard back that I'd been "cleared"... one of my coworkers told me it's just a background check so that's why I never heard back anything about any official clearance.

Thank you for the information! I had a friend who did Honors with the DEA and had to go through the full security clearance process. But I wasn't sure if it would be different for EOIR just by virtue of the information handled. Is it basically the same process SLIPs have to go through?
