Your lawyer car
What are yall planning on rolling around in when you get that six figure job right out of law school? Personally, I'm going to save up a bit and get either a Range Rover or maybe a Mercedes SL55

Probably going to buy a house first and maybe a car if salary permits. But I am planning on buying a porsche Carrera.

Vespa and mass transit. Rent a car when needed. Will buy a sailboat instead.

Loans first. Otherwise you're effectively buying a car at 8%.
If in NYC, my car will likely be a Hertz for the few days/weeks a year it's needed.

From a pragmatic perspective (and exercising a degree of prudence) I will probably not be buying that black sports car I want.albanach wrote:Loans first. Otherwise you're effectively buying a car at 8%.

Loans > House >> Car
But a car is an absolute necessity on the West Coast. I may just keep my current car (which is all paid off). I wish I lived in NYC and had the option of using mass transit but here the mass transit system leaves something to be desired.

Bendini, Lambert & Locke seems to give their 1st year associates a new Mercedes as part of the deal.

I plan on using my current car until it breaks down. At some point in the future, when I have kids, I wouldn't mind getting a wood-paneled station wagon like the one I grew up with.

You guys might want to consider the legal job market before you start planning what to do with your 6 figure salary.

I'd have to go with a BMW Isetta in candy apple red.
