Will the lsat not go away in 2025?

Post by lawschoolsplit2023 » Tue Mar 05, 2024 9:28 pm

Since 2022, there’s been talk of how the lsat will no longer be required in 2025 or for those applying 2025 cycle. Then, it appears that in 2023 the elimination of the lsat didnt come to fruition. Is it true even in 2025 schools will still require it?

I ask, because I’ll be completely ready to take the lsat and apply 2025 cycle, but if 2024 is the last cycle requiring lsat then looks like I have to apply this fall when not completely ready because my app depends on the great lsat to mitigate sub 3.0 gpa, so can someone tell me it’s not going to be eliminated in 2025?

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. When you mention it’s not going to be eliminated, does that mean in 2025 admissions aren’t going to be test optional and will require still either an lsat or gre score for admission?

It either will be LSAT/GRE mandatory or LSAT/GRE optional. In either scenario, a 3.0 GPA/175+ LSAT will be equally successful in admissions. in other words, for someone in your shoes, the answer to this question won't matter or affect the ultimate outcome.
