Something is going on with the spreadsheet. Schools without numbers moved out of their spots.

NYU 25th% LSAT is 167 - they released that info in their webinar from Thursday. I changed it on the spreadsheet. IDK how to link an image for proof but I have a screenshot of the webinar if anyone wants it.

Haha yeah I give up trying to be accurate with their numbers. I guess yours is more updated so probably correct.

Yup, the distinctions are pretty meaningless. Maybe less so from an employment outcomes perspective but from the LSAT/GPA inputs, who cares. If you group them by elite LSAT ability, you might drop NYU and Chicago from the top group based on their inability to maintain a 25% in the high 160s. At this point, without a shocking LSAT score, I'm out at HYS. As someone who would be thrilled with Biglaw, FedClerk or even State Supreme in any of Philly, Central/North Jersey, or NYC, every day I see less and less of a difference between Columbia, NYU, Penn and Cornell. The outcomes are so similar.rowdy wrote:Everything comes at a price. Look at the GPA gap.twiix wrote:that LSAT gap between Columbia and NYU is yuuuuuuuge. T5 is the new T6 imo

I kinda get the impression that with the exceptions of maybe Stanford/Chicago, it's the schools that can't raise their LSAT that turn to GPA. LSAT seems to get priority in determining ranking.
At least I'm telling myself that with the way Vandy numbers turned this year.

For US News rankings, LSAT (and GRE!) medians are worth 12.5% of a school's score and GPA is worth 10%. So there is probably a slight bias towards LSAT-heavy schools (although this depends on what exact indices USNWR is using internally, which we can only guess at).Jack_Kelly wrote:LSAT seems to get priority in determining ranking.

Re: CLASS OF 2020 MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
is it 12.5% for each of LSAT and GRE or half that? it's not clear how they'd categorize candidate who has both LSAT and GRE reported for the purpose of calculating LSAT and GRE medians. does it mean the school may choose only one of two scores to include in median computation and ignore the other (if that's below their medians)? or if the candidate included both, then they have to compute medians based on both?icechicken wrote:For US News rankings, LSAT (and GRE!) medians are worth 12.5% of a school's score and GPA is worth 10%. Re: CLASS OF 2020 MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
We can really only speculate at this point about all of those things, but I can't imagine that they'd weight the LSAT and GRE medians equally if only a tiny proportion of matriculates submitted the latter.appind wrote:is it 12.5% for each of LSAT and GRE or half that? it's not clear how they'd categorize candidate who has both LSAT and GRE reported for the purpose of calculating LSAT and GRE medians. does it mean the school may choose only one of two scores to include in median computation and ignore the other (if that's below their medians)? or if the candidate included both, then they have to compute medians based on both?

"Unofficial" Fordham Law C/O 2020 Stats
https://view.flipdocs.com/html5/?id=100 ... 0638&P=0#0
LSAT: 160/163/164
GPA: 3.43/3.60/3.71
Class Size: 412
Looks like they took higher GPA's as they jump quite a bit in each quartile. As a splitter, I like the extra cushion that a -1 (from 165--->164) 75th LSAT score provides though!

Re: CLASS OF 2020 MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
Texas A&M-- from handouts in the admissions office
LSAT: 154 / 157 / 159 (-1 / 0 / +1)
GPA: 3.22 / 3.44 / 3.60 (+.15, +.03, 0)
Not sure about the exact class size but I understand it is a little larger than last year.

Just noticed the 25th is listed in the spreadsheet as 167 for Columbia. Did someone correct the above-mentioned info or was it a typo?EnglishApplicant2017 wrote:I was at a Columbia admissions information sessions today and they gave out some literature including the entering class profile.
The number are correct as September 8th 2017.

75th: 3.81

5829 applicants
Admitted: 20.4%

Really curious to see what Cornell's medians end up being - especially given the surprised posts in the 2020 applications thread for Cornell regarding GPA as well as them holding out on reporting for this long. Do they usually wait this late to report their medians?

October 7th isn't late at all. I see, I didn't realize the deadline was December. Let me rephrase my question - is Cornell usually one of the last schools among the ~T14 to submit/report their medians?Rigo wrote:October 7th isn't late at all.
