I believe if you are only taking federal loans, just fill out the efan without contacting the lender first.

Re: UCLA Law Class of 2011
Was looking through some housing stuff and found this:
508 A Veteran Avenue Los Angeles CA 90024
Two Bedroom & One Bathroom with 2 Parking Spots
Available for Move in on July 3, 2008
$1800 for up to 2 people - Only $900 per tenant
$2100 for 3 people - Only $700 per tenant
Hardwood Floors and Tile Throughout with Lots of Closet space Large Bathroom with separate Shower and Bath
Back of Building so is quiet. Laundry on Premises
GREAT LOCATION - Short walk to UCLA
Anyone interested? The price is pretty good, if not unbeatable, for Westwood. Still won't be as nice as Weyburn since all utilities/internet/cable is paid for you and the building won't be as new but this has parking included...

That actually sounds pretty good, my old spot on levering was 1300 and it sucked...the 1bathroom is a neg. but not unbearable...however I don't think 3 people would be a good idea...what do you mean by "sep. shower and bath?"awaitingmailman wrote:Was looking through some housing stuff and found this:

Yea. I think the price is pretty good for Westwood. The ad didn't have any pictures though so I'm not sure if the place is really small or beat up (though even if it is and you're not picky about that sort of stuff its still a good price). I just copied and pasted the ad exactly as I saw it. I wouldn't want to share a room with anyone and dont think really any grad students do that so it'd definitely be a two person thing. I think what they mean by sep. shower and bath is that there's a shower and there's a bathtub that the shower isn't apart of. like theyre next to each other but not together. I think the sharing a bathroom won't be too big of a deal but if I had to share a bathroom i'd prefer to share with a girl as guys are sometimes dirty and or afraid of bathroom womanly products. the only reason problem I see with the place is that it has an early July move in. Not sure if it can be held until late July or early August, which is when I'd want to move in. Have you found a place yet bruinboy?

When will we find out our class sections/schedules, and when/where do we buy books?

Re: UCLA Law Class of 2011
In my experience a guy's bathroom is usually dirty and a girl's bathroom is always a mess... and it is kinda weird being in close proximity w/ 'womanly products' all the time (as opposed to that quick minute when youre at Target with your girlfriend and she insists she needs to buy this month's supply...)awaitingmailman wrote:I think the sharing a bathroom won't be too big of a deal but if I had to share a bathroom i'd prefer to share with a girl as guys are sometimes dirty and or afraid of bathroom womanly products.
Not yet. But if I run into anything promising I'll share the info.awaitingmailman wrote:Have you found a place yet bruinboy?

Hey everyone, I haven't been on TLS lately since my cycle came to a close, but I think the workout group is a great idea. Count me in! I'm not a gym-aholic by any measure so having some support and comraderie sounds perfect. I'm not sure of my schedule yet but I'll probably be there mornings.ari20dal7 wrote:We're now up to twelve, with the complete list below. Everyone has gotten a PM with my Facebook - so make sure to add me or message me on Facebook so that I can send you a group invitation. If you're not on Facebook, that's cool too: PM me and let me know and I'll send you my email address and we can keep in touch that way. We're already posting workout agendas for the summer on the Facebook group, so I'm hoping we can get rolling before we even get to Westwood!

Anyone get a response about the Summer Program? I think we were supposed to hear back by today. When I sent it in to the contact, i got an "out of office" reply. Hopefully my application didn't get lost in mailbox.

They just sent out a mass rejection e-mail to summer program applicants as an FYI.
Looks like they forgot to BCC the recipients...

for those of you going to the cocktail reception, are you going by yourself? the rsvp thing asks if youre bringing guests. i dont want to bring anyone but i dont want to be by myself if other people are bringing guests.

Can't make the reception, but I hope everyone who's going has a good time.
On a more serious note, I'm trying to pick a Stafford/Grad Plus lender and don't really know which lender to go with. Anyone have any thoughts as to which lender is best?

Re: UCLA Law Class of 2011
okay i found lenders (Discover seems to be the best) through some financial aid websites that look like they have better incentives than the ones ucla has listed as their online lenders. but im not sure how to do it, i guess i just have to contact the lender directly.
has anybody successful contacted the financial aid office? i wanted to call up the financial aid office and ask some questions and ive been trying to contact them for more than a week now. nobody picks up the phone, answers email, and or returns calls from voicemail.

Re: UCLA Law Class of 2011
Try calling the fin-aid office first thing in the morning, around 9 am CA time. As for lenders, the fin-aid advisor told me the choice of lender is really not as scary as it seems at first. At least for federal loans, the difference in benefits is pretty tiny, and they can also change by the time we enter repayment. Plus if you consolidate later, there will be a whole new set of benefits/incentives. She recommended narrowing the choice to about 3-5, and then picking one you feel good about. I'm going with access group - some friends of mine use them, and they seems to be an established non-profit.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
