I can't imagine that's what (s)he is talking about...

I know we're like two years out, but I wonder where it'll be in 2016.
I don't think so, seems pretty random and they only thing I think you could predict would that it won't be in the same city two years in a row. I remember NYC, SF, and DC being cities where it has been before, and I can imagine one of those being the location for 2016 (probably not NYC though since that was this year).
2011 Hollywood
2012 DC
2013 SF
2014 NYC
2015 Chicago
really can't predict where 2016 conference will be based on this

Yes! Logic!
LavLaw is not just a career fair, it's a conference. And I'm not convinced that 1Ls are barred from attending the conference. Also, law students can volunteer to work the event.

But not quite being a 1L, I would hope to get in via a lawyer/spouse/guest. So, maybe some schmoozing will have to happen after all.

Idk I just don't think it'd be that useful for you tbh. I'd assume most firms would just be like wtf.

I'd be going for the conference to listen to speakers, as well. I do believe networking can and should begin before one is actively searching for a job. For people like me who are uncomfortable with marketing themselves, a positive environment like this seems ideal for getting practice and advice in general about careers.

Networking is super important, but at the right time and place. The attorneys there will be spending time that they cannot bill recruiting 2Ls, so I just don't think many would be interested in talking to you.

This could change if you're very attractive, of course.

I'm hoping I'm attractive enough that I can get a job from this thing tbh. We'll see how the competition stacks up.

Well, since I'm hot I guess I should attend. Then, obviously they will give me the time day and all my dreams will come true. Move aside ugly b'tches.

Checking in!
Have people been contacted by LGBTQ organizations at schools they were accepted to? Michigan Outlaws reached out but that is it for me. Not sure if any other schools do this...
