Re: Class of 2016 Employment Statistics by School
For those interested in schools that fall below the threshold for inclusion here, there is a chart on the law school admissions subreddit that includes placement numbers for all ranked institutions.
https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmis ... t_reports/
Appropriating the numbers there, I've created a spreadsheet that adds the BL + FC percentages. The numbers disagree slightly with those presented here due to rounding error, but it appears that a total of eighty-three law schools boasted BL + FC numbers >10% for the c/o 2016. All credit goes to Reddit user tbk9 for compiling these figures.

These employment numbers include JD Advantage jobs, which aren't counted by sites like LST, and aren't really regarded as ideal outcomes (except JD/MBA type jobs) by TLS common wisdom.LawMan16 wrote:For those interested in schools that fall below the threshold for inclusion here, there is a chart on the law school admissions subreddit that includes placement numbers for all ranked institutions.

Did you look at the spreadsheet at the second link? Column B is the traditional TLS BL+FC metric. JD Advantage jobs are not counted in those totals, as far as I am aware.cannibal ox wrote:These employment numbers include JD Advantage jobs, which aren't counted by sites like LST, and aren't really regarded as ideal outcomes (except JD/MBA type jobs) by TLS common wisdom.LawMan16 wrote:For those interested in schools that fall below the threshold for inclusion here, there is a chart on the law school admissions subreddit that includes placement numbers for all ranked institutions.

I'm not sure how to make images display, so I put in a link too.
Picture is graph of BL+Clerkship % for T14. Can this be added to front page?

Yeah, GULC is not a law school, it's a law center.cannibal ox wrote:I disagree.personofinterest wrote:I'm not sure how to make images display, so I put in a link too.

You can't rely on employment statistics that schools publish.
No school I've ever attended has contacted me to ask if I was employed, and I don't know anyone else who had such an experience.
Do you know where I'm going with this? I hope so.
It might be good to look at other professions or jobs that you could do if and when this law thing does not pan out.

"No school I've ever attended has contacted me to ask if I was employed" -- how many law schools have you attended exactly?
T-14 schools are annoyingly insistent on knowing where you work and how much you get paid. So either you've never been to law school, you went 15 years ago, the super low end schools are potentially shady, OR you went to so many god damn law schools that no school is sure who has the right to contact you.

Wow, it's hard to believe that Vanderbilt was sitting at 47% just 2 years ago. That's crazy.lawschoolletsgo wrote:Looks like some 2017 data is in.
