Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
I wonder what schools are on the bubble, where just a modest drop or upturn might sway recruiters to [either] increase or decrease their OCI participation. I guess that scenario has little to do with the T14 as much as schools on some Tier 1 level.
I suppose on the T14 level its more mano a mano on a candidate-to-candidate basic (grades and charm probably supersede an advantage candidate from school #5 has over #8).

There are no such schools. No school will see a change in OCI participation based on the USNWR rankings this year. Zero.Sheffield wrote:I wonder what schools are on the bubble, where just a modest drop or upturn might sway recruiters to [either] increase or decrease their OCI participation. Good luck with that.dixiecupdrinking wrote:There are no such schools. No school will see a change in OCI participation based on the USNWR rankings this year. Zero.
According to you, ASU having jumped from #55 to #26 hasn’t seen an increase from OCI, is that what you are saying? Seriously? Or a student whose school dropped from #23 down to #35 isn’t concerned. Guess again (and next time try harder.... put a little moonshine in your Dixie cup, hopefully it will help).

Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
I cant tell if your are serious.... If so...you obviously dont know how LS works. ASU is not going to have more employers come this year than last because their ranking changed, even if it was a jump. ASU had crappy employment prospects last year and they wont be any better this year.Sheffield wrote:Good luck with that.dixiecupdrinking wrote:There are no such schools. lolwut. you are talking crazy, son. USNWR ratings are totally disconnected from hiring practices, just check out the NLJ250. There is a ROUGH correlation but thats not because the USNWR is dictating it.Sheffield wrote:Good luck with that.dixiecupdrinking wrote:There are no such schools. Agree with this. Most hiring partners are kinda clueless about rankings, and have their own opinions of what the good schools are probably based on when they applied to law school.stillwater wrote:lolwut. you are talking crazy, son. Any of you ever been in a city where there are two or more law schools…. one law school is swamped with OCI recruiters and the others are not…. why do you think that is? Hmmmmmmmm… perhaps that school provides a better map to their location, or…. could…. it be . . . (wait 4 it)……............................. The USNWR LS rankings.ajr wrote:Agree with this. Is this from the droves of experience you have in multiple cities going around to the various law school OCI's?Sheffield wrote: Any of you ever been in a city where there are two or more law schools…. one law school is swamped with OCI recruiters and the others are not…. why do you think that is? Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
Just do a small experiment. When you are doing your summer at a firm, go around asking the people around you if they know where ASU is ranked. You'll be surprised. Not to say that the people you talk to are the ones making the hiring decisions, but 'impressions' of schools just stay with people for life and USNews rankings do little to change them. Heck, let me see how much you keep up with USNews rankings a few years after being at a firm.Sheffield wrote:ajr wrote:stillwater wrote:Any of you ever been in a city where there are two or more law schools…. one law school is swamped with OCI recruiters and the others are not…. why do you think that is? It's ok the important is to come back with a healthy attitude, having grown. But seriously take some time away from this thread.

Not sure what's sarcasm or serious (cereal) in this thread. I am incredibly confused.
