Anybody know what a 3.0 gpa in Canada would be in US?

3.7 is 83.

Sounds like you've got that part of it down.

We don't use percentages in the US in terms of GPA itself, just as the grades are determined. At most schools, a 93/94% is an A = 4.0; 90% is A- 3.7, 88% B+ 3.4, and on down with that pattern continuing.

A 3.0 then would be the equivalent of B, so at most schools, around 83/84 - 87/88. Some might weight B-/B/B+ the same so then anywhere from 80-89 would be considered a 3.0/B average.

I'm Canadian and had my transcripts converted already so I know where you're coming from. Can't really speculate on what your GPA will be unfortunately, you basically have to send in your transcripts to LSDAS and see what they do with them; it depends on what's on your transcript.

Every Canadian school's transcript can be treated a little bit differently as well, because some of them give letter grades, percentages, or other numeric grades of some sort. I'm from an Ontario school that shows both letter and percentage grades on the transcripts, so until I actually sent mine in I really didn't know how my GPA would turn out on the US scale. It's especially complicated by the fact that our letter grades are valued differently than in the US, for example at many schools an A is 80% or higher whereas in the US an A is usually in the 90's I think...

And my knowledge focuses solely on Quebec. So take it for what it's worth.

Oh, if only it were as simple as that page makes it sound... Canadian school transcripts can be kind of weird.
